Backward compatibility,

seriously I want to be able to play my PS3 and 360 games on the next consoles
I'm not too bothered about this because of Microsoft's bright idea to have card info on the hard drive, so I'm gonna be buried with my Xbox :p

I'm very bored with my PS3 and my Xbox 360. The graphics could be better on most of my games on my Xbox 360 and PS3. The interfaces for both consoles could be better and more interesting to use/watch since it's all columns and rows for their interfaces. Customization could be a bit more in depth for the user, especially on the PS3 the internet could be better even if it is free, another thing about both consoles is that I can't use them to browse the internet without insane lag and not being able to use online computer games on them, Xbox 360 consoles tend to be a bit bulky and take up a bit much room, and overall, both consoles feel... out of date. So in the next console generation of the two, what do you want improved/added?
Easy!

A $500 graphics card.
8 - 16 GB of 2133MHz RAM
A 4.5 GHz i7 Proc

In built Mic and Facial feature Webcam
and this controller:

Just picture it.
You are playing at almost photorealistic graphics at 60 fps, when you talk, your character actually mimics your mouth, your hand movements, and you can do anything with your character, from perfect hand control to foot work.

Who wouldn't want that? ^^

1.Backwards compatibility

2.Blu-ray is the standard for space of discs (if microsoft doesn't have it and thinks that they can get by with DVD for the next gen then they are idots unless they go fully digital)

3.More RAM

4.Motion controls like the kinect need to be more accurate (it's just no good enough for anything other then Dance central and fitness games almost 90% of everthing else is worse then the Wii shovelware that came out over the years)

5.Make it built to last PC's are going to get ahead very quickly and we need a nex gen cnsole that can keep up a bit better than the PS3 and 360 did granted its being about 6-7 years since they have both being out but we sould push hardware foward more to have the power that PC's have now.

Well... good launch titles for starters, remember the PS3's launch titles? haha, so bad.

Better tech under the hood is obvious, give developers something to work with to create things we haven't seen before, or something we have, looking even better. Although thats more for others because if a game is lauded for its graphics ill be getting it on PC anyway.

Blu-ray, much larger initial HDD space, the ability to play my music while also playing a game (nothing is better than running around the wasteland listening to heavy metal while blasting super mutants in the face, unfortunately I have to do that on my PC at the moment and not from the comfort of my couch in front of my Plasma TV).

Lastly, better library of games on XBL/PSN, especially in Australia where our selection of games sucks the big one. re-releasing a lot more older titles would be nice, especially if they were hard to find/not released in that region the first time around.

500gb to 1tb of storage space, support for 2560x1600/2560x1440, cheaper peripherals (i don't give a shit if my console costs an extra $20, stop charging me so much for a fucking controller), OPTIONAL digital distribution that doesn't suck (Microsoft want to charge more for a DD copy of a game than my local shop, despite the lack of middle men and packaging - LOLNO), backwards compatibility and no more of this bullshit '$10 extra to play this used game kthnx' and add another button or 2 to the face of the controller. Maybe put 'Z' button in the middle of the A,B,X,Y.

If the next generation of consoles tries to stop used game sales in any way, i'll be a PC only gamer.

Honestly, refresh the current hardware with some higher clock speeds and more ram (blu-ray in the case of the 360), redesign the controllers and drop the cost to push games onto the consoles so that we actually have GOOD games getting made these days and i'll happily buy it.

A multi-stacker disc drive.
I don't give a fuck if my console ends up being fat.
I want to be able to swap from GOW to Halo to a DVD without having to get my fat arse out of my chair.

I would like for it to *not* result in the games retail industry downsizing as a result of consoles blackballing used games.

I just want less shooters, more platformers and more Japanese RPGs.

As for the hardware... As long as they don't make motion controls their primary controls, I don't really care.

That said, while my X360 has been gathering dust for years now, I'm still having loads of fun with the PS3 and the Wii. Especially since the latter has Xenoblade Chronicles, The Last Story and Pandora's Tower - three great titles that can all be played WITH A NORMAL CONTROLLER!

Built-in eye-scanner which will lock kids out of age restricted games until their 18th birthday for example.
...
How does that even work?
As far as I know... eyes get to the adult stage at like 8 years old or something...
Besides, everyone knows Kids will play age-restricted games, and It generates a lot of money for the industry, it's honestly not that bad.

Anyway, I want the new console generation to have games that translate easily and port well to the PC.
Yeah, I gave up on console gaming after my PS3 began to chug REALLY badly.
That and I got a laptop.

At this stage in the current generation of consoles, I regret having not bought a Wii instead of the other two. I'll be going with the WiiU. What I want is for games to be games again, not so far up their own ass trying to be taken as seriously as they are.

Agreeably the PS3 isn't nearly as powerful as a PC but most consoles aren't. Sony really screwed the pooch on RAM when the console was first released. $600 for 60GB!? That's just depressing.
I very much doubt the other components in the PS3 could really utilise 60GB of RAM ;o)

I did find my 40GB hard drive insubstantial so I replaced it with a 640GB.
