What do you want out of life?

I'm not looking for anything in particular. I'm just an observer, I'm taking a look at what's going on, seeing how things work while I'm here and listening to great music. Making a useful contribution to humanity would be satisfying although I see the majority as ungrateful ignoramuses. Wow, I should not work with the public, ever.

I would like to be able to look back at my life in the end and be able to say, despite my feelings at the time, that I have no regrets.

Short of that immortality would be nice, it'd be cool to see what lthings are like a few thousand years from now.

I seek satisfaction, the continuation of my genetic legacy and being able to face death with dignity, knowing the world is a better place for my having lived.

So, a family, and a job I enjoy which not only allows me and mine to live comfortably, but which contributes to the overall progress and benefit of humanity.

Well, finishing my physics degree and then getting a physics-related job. I'd also like a nice house and to be generally happy. Doesn't seem all that unattainable.
I do tend to look for new goals when I finish my old ones though, so what I want from life is likely to change a lot.

To be more specific, I want to to write, novels, short stories, articles, non fiction, whatever interests me. Also, I just want to learn. Learn and discuss from things like politics, philosophy, technology, economics, etc.
