I'd love it if Red Dead had a Steampunk baby. I'd also like a game where you manipulate the environment causing a species to evolve. A little like Spore only you're not directly controlling the creatures or directly editing, and less cartoony, and less of a pile of crap.

As much as I know it probably never work, I would love to see a Wheel of Time RPG. It would be difficult to pull off, but I'd give it a chance if Bioware or Bethesda were behind it. Bioware would be able to capture the deep, intricate story and weave that into gameplay, whereas Bethesda would set the player loose in Jordan's incredibly detailed and interesting world. Either would be awesome if done right.
But how would they work out the choice of gender in the beginning? I mean if you want to go for a male spellcaster (as i usually do) you'd have the whole of tar'valon on your ass :p

You could still play as a man who could channel. You'd just have to join the Dragon Reborn and train with him instead of in Tar Valon.

I think an open-ended RPG with Zeno Clash's combat system in the Texhnolyze universe would be the most badass game ever concieved. If you've seen Texhnolyze then you know why.

Nah, it's doable. Would have to be something similar to Dragon Age's origin stories, but I could definitely see it working. The biggest problem facing a serious WoT game would be the fact that Robert Jordan is dead, so keeping a game in line with the books and his vision of the world would be difficult. Gameplay wise, just do something similar to Dragon Age or Oblivion and you'd be set.

Monty Python and the Holy Grail, as an RPG.

Playable characters include: King Author (typical main hero), Sir Bedevere (Wizard), Sir Lancelot (Knight), Sir Robin (Theif/Bard), Sir Galahad (Palidin), and unlockable character Enchanter Tim

The game can include quests between each scene like finding each knight to recruit, and having to collect the parts to build the Trojan Rabbit. Bosses could include The Black Night (and limbs), Knights who say Ni, Three-Headed Giant, Zoot, Rabbit of Caerbannog, and The Animator.

I'd like to see either of Jim Butchers' series (The Dresden Files and The Codex Alera) get a game adaption (as long as it was done right.) They're both well-designed worlds that would probably be a lot of fun to play in.
Also good would be a game of the Belgariad, and a Sword of Truth game would be fun as long as it stayed away from the Objectivist bullshit.

I've really enjoyed the Mass Effect universe. I'd like something more open-ended and less Commander Shepard to mess around in it. I don't have a problem with Shepard, per se, I'd just like to be able to screw around more like in a TES game.

I'd like something with more,.... uh.... space to actually explore like the hordes of pointless people & destinations you found in Morrowind or Oblivion.

That, or give me Spaceballs: The MMO

The Venture Brothers. I've thought about this before. It lends itself perfectly to four player co-op modes.

Team Sphynx: SHPYNX!
Brock, Shore-Leave, Sky Pilot and Hunter Gathers
Primarily combat oriented

Team Monarch:
The Monarch, Dr. Mrs. The Monarch, 21 and the moppets
Mix of science and combat

Team Revenge Society:
Dr. Impossible, Phantom Limb, Underbheit and Fat Chance
Mix of combat and magic

Team Triad (+1):
Dr. Orpheus, Jefferson Twighlight, The Alchemist and The Master
Primarily magic

Team Venture:
Doc, Hank, Dean, Hatred
Mix of Science and combat

Team Leftovers:
Peet White, Billy, Jonas Venture Jr., and Ned (yes, Ned)

Players can choose between four person multiplayer or single player, letting the AI handle the other team members as they switch between them.

The fact that I've thought it out this much is nerdy on so many levels

EDIT: Doc Hammer and Jackson Publick would have to be given command for this to work and not be a train wreck. Also, all characters keep their original voices, but that goes without saying.

The Mars Trilogy by Kim Stanley Robinson. Each book can be its own game and the player can chose what side they take. Brute force could get results now, but you'll probably be stopped or killed or something else that will make it harder to get around for a while.

The limited timeline and events that happen in each book would make an MMO version of this game hard to pull off, but I'd hate to see it be stuck as a single player game that leaves at least one very big "What If" at the end until you can get the next part.

I was thinking about this too. Sadly the plot and characters would be difficult to translate to a gaming audience...oh well.
