What do you want to see in a MMO?

I'd love a Star Wars MMO (TOR ftw!). I'd also like an MMO that doesn't force you to get in a group with randomers just so you can finish a group quest. Probably my biggest pet hate however is the fact you have to kill a specific enemy, take boars for example, apparently there's a difference between killing hulking boars and mottled boars... why? A boars a boar no matter what name it has and I doubt that they do anything different seen as they both try to kill you, eat everyone's vegetables and look ugly!

It used to be good... Up until one expansion pack where they made most of the classes useless or just removed them outright and took out the fact that skilled players at level 1 could manage a win against an unskilled level 10 and just turned it into "level # - Your Level # = Wether or not you win" I want to see an RPG where skill plays as big as roll as levels.

One with as little interaction from other mouthbreathers as possible. While playing with friends is fine and all, being forced into level parties with a bunch of idiots just isn't worth it.
Very true, I think both options should be possible. There should be a way to level and obtain proper gear simply through diligent solo work. As well as partying. While you can currently level by yourself in pretty much all mmo's what you can't do is obtain the better gear without sometimes doing the same thing a dozen times until it both drops and you win the roll for it.

A Warhammer 40k MMO done properly.

It's not going to happen, of course. If they were going to make a proper 40k MMO, it would be Inquisitor Online.

I think the sickest mmo ever would be something like an rts, but the players take control of the individual units up-close and personal fps style, and one player on each side is the "commander" who can see the whole map and issue orders to players and from above (the rt bit). when the commander player issues orders they would appear as objectives to the unit players the orders are given to. it would take a lot of co-operation and trust between players and the commander, but if pulled off well that woulld be the coolest game ever.

An impossible feat.

What I want to see is a free MMO on par with WoW with furry characters (yes I played Vanguard: Saga of Heroes and it was -bad-) without stupid fictional race names.

APB seems like your medicine.

At least partially, each city/server is 100 players.
You're right. I remember reading about this one. Might be interesting indeed!

An MMO based on the Alien Universe, join the Marine Corp, travel to planets, fight the Aliens and be home in time for dinner lol.

I could play an MMORPG if it does this.

LESS grind. Yes, you don't need ultra grind to keep people hooked. You can make it faster so that people can try out MOST classes in the game before getting completely bored of it.

More action in combat. Dragonica does this pretty good, it still has grind issues.

No delay on potions. Why? Well if you remove it, you can make boss battle far more fun because delay just makes you go defense during the time. Unlike in Ragnarok Online. Bloody awesome MMORPG there. MVPs being pretty fun to fight against. :3

Giving you a reason to head back to lower levels to hunt for certain items. Staying at the end all the time is boring. I want to have a reason to butcher some random monster in a random cave. Like in Ragnarok Online with it's card system. It gave you a reason to visit other places.

Make so that the gears DO make the character. As in, really power you up like hell. Ragnarok Online does this with the card system.

So why doesn't I play it? Well after 4 years it's gotten a bit to much. :)

I've heard Chromehounds, a game for the 360 was like this and I think M.A.G for the Ps3 will be like this. Sadly, I don't have any consoles and it's surprisinging there isn't an RTS like this for PC.

more boobs, less armor?

no seriously I would like to see a mech style mmo.
The thing here is though to make it interesting and playable at all levels and mech sizes/capabilities. It would have to be a sprawling massive world. Where the smaller mechs could use their speed to make hit and run attacks and the larger mechs would have plenty of offers of cover. Yet have to decide whether or not to make the move from one place to another exposing themselves in the open as the moved slowly.

I actually liked Eureka 7, but I'm not sure how well that combat would work, it would be horribly difficult to set up advanced combat where you didn't just click a button for some ability, which I think would detract greatly from the immersion. Most the mmo's I've played after a point I was able to make a macro that was basically either "kill bad guy" or "support good guy" and spend the rest of the game in follow mode to whoever was in my party.

I'm really tired of that in mmo's I want immersion.
Yay fellow Eureka 7 fan. :)

On the subject of one click attacks and the like I also deeply hate those. Sadly, almost any MMO is like that. If i was designing a Eureka 7 MMO and I was in say the Nirvash(of course noone would actually have the Nirvash in game) then i would have to control the Nirvashs speed, direction and so on and when the time was right I would draw my blade and slash through an enemy.
Like that.

No one click ability for slashing an enemy. That would make the game into a glorified cutseceen.

Oblivion style gamesplay.

Except for spells. Spells in Oblivion sucked.
