What do you want?

Currently, I am sat underneath the front door, waiting for the post. I've never felt so pathetic and helpless in my life. My future is being decided by a panel of 7 or so people, and I will receive a letter with their verdict this week, the earliest date for receiving a letter being today.

Perhaps that's a bit dramatic. A new veterinary science course will be starting with only 5 places, and as it's what I've always wanted to do (but discouraged from applying for as I don't come from a strong financial background or have the competitive edge to get a place). On monday I was one of only 12 out of 500 applicants interviewed, and I'm now awaiting their verdict. If I get the place, I move 200 miles for 6 years to finally live out my dream. If I don't, I'll go back to college and carry on grooming horses. A chance like this might never come about again, as next year funding for me stops, and it will cost me around £90,000 to study vet science.

So escapists, while I sit here and wait for the post, what do you want? Are you the sort of person who chases their goals, or simply carries on with how life is flowing?

I'm currently waiting for my GCSE results which I can get in august, not really got much else that I'm waiting for, or aiming for as I know that I have my spot in college.

I do however wish you good luck with the reply that you get from them.

I've just recently postponed the chasing of my dream. I have anxiety issues that mean I'll never be able to realise said dream until I've beaten them. Which could take a very, very long time. And now that I've stopped chasing that dream that I've been chasing for a few years now, I have no freaking clue what I'm going to do with my life.

So I guess the answer is I'm a goal-chaser, but a temporarily defeated one. Downer reply, I suppose. Good luck with your goal. It sounds amazing.

I'd like to go to a culinary academy...but I'm not entirely sure I'd be able to make such a high cusp of cooks. It's my dream to open up my own little restaurant and sell good food to good people, who will enjoy it. To me, one of the best feelings in life is to make something that someone enjoys, and food is one of those things I can make well.

I haven't gotten to doing it mainly due to a lack of self-esteem and the like...but I'm hoping I eventually get the nerves to go out and look around for such an application.

Otherwise, I really hope you get your dream job, as everyone deserves to have it no matter what it might be.

Good luck to you. Even if you've postponed your goal, never give up - you'll get back to it later =]

I'm the kinda guy who makes rash last minute decisions. And then goes with the flow were ever it takes me. I have actually stopped trying to plan ahead because nothing goes my way.

I had the same problem, which is why this is such a massive thing for me. Good luck to you, seriously, don't let anything stand in the way of your dreams!

I want to know what I want and to have the fortitude to work for it. I want to be confident about where I'm going, even if I don't know if I'll make it there.

Until then, I'll just keep going down the path I've landed on and hope for the best.

I just go, with the flow.
but at some point I want to start a game company or work at one.
but I always try to be laid back because I easily get stressed.

I'm trying to save up several thousand dollars for a surgery I will have NO financial help with, even from family, so that I can get on with my life. =/ Then maybe I can go to college.

Good luck to you, and never forget - someone will always support you, maybe not financially but in any way they can =]
