Replayable single player experience.

i.e Gmod, Portal, Supreme Commander, Oblivion (I can't speak for morrow wind, I've never played it) and Assassins creed 2.
Fix'd

A lot of replay value.
Thats why AC2 is so awesome.
Why does nobody understand that some of us liked Assassin's Creed 1?

Anyway, most people have said it, but I'll reiterate. One of three things: A great story, fantastic gameplay, or some kind of combination of both (in which the quality of each can be slightly less).

Sorry I didn't think very far ahead on that post. While I agree that AC1 is fun I still think it lacks in replay value. Again, sorry.

-Relatable/believable characters
-Good atmosphere
-Intuitive controls
-At least one "oh my god" moment (i.e nuke exploding in CoD: 4)
-In-depth story
-Motive (Why am I doing what i'm doing)

FUN!

Whether the story is enticing or the gameplay is solid the game must be fun. I don't want to do chores when I am resting

Though it is not a game maker like gameplay or story, I LOVE a game with cheat codes. I don't see very many games with them these days which is an extreme disappointment.

This, too many gamers forget this and kid themselves thinking they're having fun when they're not.

There's nothing that all games that I have liked have other than gameplay. And even then it could be turn based or real-time.

A compelling and attractive story.
range of graphics, with option for mind-blowing.
Good physics engine.
Intelligent gameplay and controls but easy to follow (ie no xryswa combos or anything)

Well, they would need to be fun, for starters. Not much point in playing a game that makes you want to rip your hair out.

1. Engaging characters and story
2. Tight controls
3. A good camera (It means the world)
4. A unique gameplay element or two.
