What Does Everyone Think of Steam's Potato Sack?

Buy a TF2 Potato Hat for $37 and get 13 games for free! What a savings!

In all seriousness, what are the Escapists' thoughts on this? I picked it up yesterday (and sent my extra copy of Meat Boy and Reckless Disreguard For Gravity to my friend). It looks like a great value, TF2 hat or no.

One of the most interesting theories I heard was that there would either be:
A. a HUGE TF2 update on the 5th. It coencides with the day the JP Relief Items are being taken down, leaving more space in the Mann Co Store.
or
B. It's all a Portal tie-in. People were wondering what potatos had to do with April Fools, and one person drew this conclusion: POrTAl TwO. All caps letters spell out POTATO. Yeah, it's reaching a bit, but still...

Can't wait for my games to finish installing, can't wait for my Potato Hat. If there's one thing Steam knows how to do, it's how to present a deal so sweet that they grab me by the proverbial balls and refuse to let go until I shell out some cash.

Well Amnesia is 50% off so I may get that. I'm not really interested in the bundle overall.

Its got some good games but i long sense already bought the good ones alone.

It's a good pack and promotes the indie devs. Unfortunately I already have the games I want from the pack.
I've been playing TF2 continously and haven't seen anyone with the potato sack hat but lots of people with the relief funds hats. So either they don't care for one hat that comes with several great indie games or the hat trade is losing (hopefully so) it's luster.

Either way I'm set for Portal 2 so until then playing more TF2.

Edit Forgot the Potato Sack hat won't be available until the fifth. This explains why I haven't seen anyone with it

Not a huge fan since I already own 6 of the 13 games (the ones that actually interested me) and buying the rest of the games for the hat would be $30, not a far cry from the $38 cost of the bundle. A little disappointed when deals like this roll around and I'm like wow I spent pretty much the same amount for a few games in the bundle as the whole bundle costs now. Really wish steam would go hey, you own some of these games in a bundle we'll give you a discount on this bundle because you are a patron of these games.

Also is it just me or was it odd that steam didn't have any deals this week besides this for the weekend? And the fact that once in a millennium D2D actually has had more interesting deals? Seriously picking up the new Medal of Honor for $6.50 was amazing.

I own a fair number of the games listed, and I'm not really interested in most of the others. I think I'll pass this time around.

No, half of the pack consists of stuff i wouldnt touch.

If i wanted to i could buy the stuff i am interested in and it would be less than half of the pack deal.
