It makes you high and because it's illegal you get paranoid about the cops, also you get "the munchies".
First off, you absolutely reek of the stuff. I had to use like half a can of deoderant to hide it once. It slows down your senses and makes you happy and everything you see is funny as hell. You also get The Munchies which makes you want to eat crap food for a while. I ate half a tub of marshmallows the last time I used it.
Vague "scientific" studies have sort of proven it to improve your eyesight a bit, which makesstoners people want it legalised.
Prolonged use can cause Panic Attacks, Amnesia, Depression and Paranoia.

Medically speaking "proper" (regulated and controlled) amounts of it can help people with problems.

From my own experience, i have to admit that not everything becomes insanely funny, Sometimes i just got tired.
I've heard that some shrooms actually does give the everything-is-epicly-funny sensation. Other shrooms just makes you grow if you're an italian plumber.

Marijuana fucks up your life... don't do it unless you live somewhere where it is legal.

It depends on your current mood I think, if you are already in a good mood it gets you higher, if you aren't it can make you depressed. And occasionally you hallucinate, at least I think thats it...

Forgetfulness/Amnesia is not just an effect while you are taking it but something that can get worse the more you do it. This is bad hopefully for obvious reasons too.
Arguably it is no worse than alcohol, but try banning alcohol now and there would be riots.
