Marijuana fucks up your life... don't do it unless you live somewhere where it is legal.
Or if you have no job, or are not worried about the negative effects of it.

Drugs are bad... m'kay?
I'm going to have to go with this. Marijuana's bad unless you have some kind of illness that may require the medicinal use of it. Then, evidently, it's okay.

Weed, marijuana, cannabis. Being stoned (high, in my reckoning is owed to any number of chemical substances rather than weed) puts a kind of shroud over your field of awareness. You are less likely to notice things going on out of the sphere of your observation - eg. if you're watching t.v. whilst stoned, and your like-wise stoned flatmate breaks a glass in the kitchen behind you, it may take you a few seconds longer than it normally would to comprehend this piece of information.
In a bizzare juxtaposition, your senses are, by-and-large enhanced. Studies have indicated that it may improve your sight. Everything TASTES better (a partial contributor to the continuation if not the instigation of the MUNCHIES), and although you may not have the crisp and immediate action your limbs are used to, even tactile sensations are improved. (Get stoned and get a massage, head rub, or have sex and you'll understand).

Having said that, everyone gets a different buzz. I've had sessions where I've giggled like a school-girl, and sessions where I've been as immovable and emotionless as a rock. I've had times where I found it difficult to concentrate on simple tasks like pouring a glass of juice, and yet I've driven long-distance through crazy storms off my head and not only arrived safely but without stress.
Most times I smoke weed, I find that I notice things that I didn't notice before. Some of things are small observations (wow...that song has so many more levels to it than I gave it credit for), and small paranoias (has my car always made that sound or is it a new thing...?) but I also find that I'm able to focus my attention on doing ONE THING AWESOMELY. That one thing may be driving home after a bake at a mate's place (Driving under the influence is not only illegal it's STUPID...butimuststillsaythatithinkidrivebetterwhenstoned) , or getting into the gaming zone to carry my team in dota or wow or dow2 or whatever. Other times I get stoned and play games and I'm messy, useless and often giggling.

On the 'smell' factor, weed doesn't cling to your clothing anywhere near as much as tobacco will. Unless you're smoking in a small unventilated place, in which case you deserve to stink.
Blah I'm rambling.

Time to get back to the bucket....

Long term use can cause personality changes.

If you have a family history of schizophrenia, fairly heavy marijuana use can bring on schizophrenia.

It can be used to manage pain, and can help to calm nausea.

Can make people agitated and paranoid.

It can exacerbate depressive symptoms.

And of course smoking it gives you all the risks of lung, tongue and mouth cancer that you'd expect.

I smoke weed pretty often, and I know pretty much about growing them too.

What weed does to a person varies from person to person. Weed can't kill you, weed is more safe (in medical sense) than coffee. You can't get medically addicted to it, but anything can be mentally addictive, like games.
Weed can cure many diseases, it is used as one of the most safest drugs naturally occurring in nature. Weed can cure insomnia, can ease chronic pain, helps with some eye issues, can help overcome anorexia, weed has actually blood cleansing characteristics, helps with depression and the list goes on and on. The only really bad thing about weed is that usually it is inhaled as a smoke, which rarely never is good, but weed has been proven to be useful with persons with asthma when they inhale steamed pot.

When I smoke, I usually smoke so that I get a good warm feeling. Takes the edge off from a stressful day, helps me relax and take things in a lighter sense. For me weed has done nothing but good, I'm pretty sure it saved me from my deep depression and helped me get my life back, by giving me my smile back after I had a year long depression where I lost weight and was only 50kg (im 23 years male). Now I'm healthier than I've ever been in my life, partially thanks to weed.

Smoking too "much" can INDEED cause severe hallucinations on some people, like me. Some might get no hallucinations and in some very rare cases weed can TRIGGER (not cause) hidden mental illnesses like OCD (have a room-mate who suffers from it).

When I smoke too "much" weed, I start to drift from reality, everything becomes like a dream...I can't tell the difference between my thoughts and what is really happening around me. I start to black-out, and might even slip inside my head completely and in what point I've smoked too much and can only sit peacefully inside my head and wait for the effect to fade away and hope I don't do anything stupid while I'm at it.

Never trust a person who says weed is a drugs which can kill you, make you stupid/slow and that no one can hallucinate from it....for the love of god, weed has the psychoactive substance...THC in it.

If you plan on smoking weed, do it in a safe place with close friends and use with respect. Some have stronger reactions from it.

I think it's important to note that smoking three joints causes you to inhale equal quantities of toxic chemicals as a packet of cigarettes. Cannabis smoke contains seven times more tar and carbon monoxide than tobacco smoke.
Tar isn't contained in each product on its own, tar forms in the burning process, smoking heavily and fast generates more tar...and if you smoke a pack of joints in a day you have worse things to consider than the tar in the smoke. There just ain't no reason to smoke tobacco, none. Also another fact, marijuana hasn't been linked to any cancer by approved medical studies yet.
Hope I helped.

I call BS on the driving imparment for a day. Weed is less potent than alcohol, yet can drive a car while hung over. Driving a car while actually high might be a bad idea, cause you drive to slow and are paranoid, but the effects of marijuana last 3 hours at most, then you go back to normal, ready to drive to get more pot.

It works by influencing your brain chemistry like most drugs and may have adverse effects, however, those aren't any worse than what alcohol and nicotine can do to you, the latter are just more generally accepted.

Its totally fine, if you haven't smoked a lot you just kind of get light headed and laugh at just about everything. Seeing as how I have been smoking weed every day in my life for I dunno how many years now I will not get high, I will get not not high, if that makes sense. I feel stranger when I am not high then when I am high.

Anyone who is really against it and drinks alcohol is a total hypocrite. I guarantee you no one has ever gotten so high they: Got Marijuana poison and died, went to drive home and in a haze ran over 13 pedestrians, picked a fight with someone for no reason (unless they are just a belligerent tool that does that) or cannot recall what happened the last night. Alcohol was illegal 50 years ago and in 50 years weed will be legal too.

Over a period of time, it's damaging to health. Similar to alcohol, in the short term, pretty much what's already been said, loss of awareness and motivation, heightened senses ect.

I've heard people say it's not habit forming, but I call bullshit, I've seen too many people addicted to it to believe that. Also, it's a huge money Drain.

Medical science has yet to fully classify marijuana; is it a hallucinogen, depressant, something else entirely? What happens is that there are THC (Tetra-hydrocannibinal) receptors actually in the human brain already that are activated by cannabinoid substances. Of which there is one: weed. The brain activates these and a "high" is achieved, which consists of a bit of time dilation, increased metabolism, and usually an increased sense of scope (As in, man, the universe is a big place). All of this is caused by actual bits of your brain working that don't work under any other circumstances, unfortunately. This is in stark contrast to something like alcohol, which affects you because it is a poison and the body is working to get rid of it. There are dangers to using too much of it, to be certain, but it is not by itself an unhealthy substance.

so marijuana causes:
extreme funnyness
slow senses
driving impairment
delusion
you get hungry
you smell badddd
, so why is it illegal again
Because most legislatures view marijuana as a 'gateway' drug. Statistics show that most people that take heavier drugs started out with marijuana. The theory is (and I don't personally agree with it) that if you cut out the gateway drug, or at the very least limit the ability of the masses to get it, you will cut out a number of people that would 'move on' to Heroin, PCP, Crack, Cocaine, LSD, what have you. Thats the current rationalization in a nutshell.

To the people who say "Buht alcohol is t3h w0rse? y are is illegal?!?11one," I would recommend you read history and see what happened when alcohol was made illegal.

Marijuana isn't all that bad.

When I use it I just get hungry. And laugh at everything for some reason.
I once ate 3 boxes of cheez-its while high.

I guess if you don't want to get fat, don't use Marijuana, cause you'll eat so much crap food

I don't smoke it but nearly all of my good friends do. The ones that are most addicted are, as much as I love the guys, lazy, mooching bastards a lot of the time. It changes people, it really does.
