Hey guys I never played Operation Flashpoint so I dont know what the new one will be like. Trailers and hype make it look pretty cool, but then again I thought ODST would be cool to. Any help?

Well, OFP2 is nothing like Halo ODST. Operations Flashpoint is, basically, a shooter that tries to be very, very realistic. Don't expect fast paced actions, because it's more about real warfare. That means walking and waiting and spying befire taking the actions you would immediately thown into in games such Halo or Modern Warfare.
You can die if someone shoots you in the head... or an artery, because you can bleed to death to. You have to command a squad, and ordering a frontal attack is just sending men to a certain death. It requieres some strategy (haven't played it yet, so I can't tell how much). The point is, you have to be very, very careful.
It's far more open, too. The game is a huge sandbox in which you are sent in among missions. It's not like you can roam freely, but you just have so much space to maneuver.

So, that's basically it. Hope it helps.

I loved the first OFP. I came across it by chance and haven't found anything better in its field since then (and my PC is far too ancient to play any of the ArmA games).

I just picked it up yesterday and it reminds me of a cross between the Ghost Recon series and maybe Call of Duty.
Like Quilly pointed out..there's space and LOTS of it. One mission was to take out some APCs and secure an airfield.Instead of just doing the airfield assault on the open, where the enemy was expecting us,we traveled on foot, along the left side, came down a hill and engaged targets from the perimeter and moved onto the control tower. Can't get past that stage though,we all keep dying or getting shot.

The AI is ok.If it's a Anti-Tank specialist or Automatic Rifleman and you give the order to Return Fire or Weapons Free..they are good about hitting the enemy and their vision is better. However if you are bleeding out and you call MEDIC..sometimes the medic just stands there or isn't being a medic.
