I kinda like the guy and his content.

As a console gamer who has never been, isn't and probably never will be a PC gamer I do think he can be a bit up-himself and snobbish about some things sometimes, but when it comes to the actual games himself he's usually a pretty solid and reliable guy to listen to.

I like him well enough, though he does have some issues he gets a bit zealous. His professionalism and personality are pretty good though, so some eccentricities aren't going to make me dislike him yet.

I see him as a strongly opinionated professional with whom I agree more often than not.

He has his bad moments, in regards with his attitude to comments but his WTF is? series has guided me away from some shit and towards many good games.

I like listening to him as background noise. Outright watching him is a bore because he spends a lot of time talking about specs and PC jargon that goes way over my head. Then again I'm a console kind of gal so I'm not exactly his target audience. I can't stand it when he gets preachy as hell though. Especially when he goes into politics/game political s, or social issues. Then again I avoid those vids because I know I would get agitated to all hell about it.

He's as close to a proper professional gaming critic as you can find right now, imo. His video's are informative and of high quality and he approaches everything as professionally as possible. (apart from when it comes to his pet peeves) Plus he's brutally honest to the point of sounding/being rude, which I like since I'm like that too.

Luckily he's on youtube and not TV though, as there are parts of his video's that I skip. Like the 10 minute long reviews of options menu's and the like he does in his WTF is... series.

Ditto. I don't agree with the guy on everything, but by god he should be put up on a pedestal for "this is how you should review stuff". Though his ever-growing subs might be indicative of that. He makes or breaks indies and even if it's a game he doesn't personally likes, he looks at it objectively.

Unfortunately, because he's doing his job so well, people who can't do their jobs get jealous. Then by coincidence a bunch of people claim he's racist/sexist/misogynistic and started to harass him. The guy that's recovered from cancer and is seeing a psychologist. Who'd of thought that kind of abuse wouldn't have come from fanboys of a game, but people thinking they were doing the right thing and better than gamers?

For the majority of his content, honestly he is a little too technical for me. I gave up PC gaming a while ago for a variety of reasons, so for me his content is a little bit too much on the technical side. But when he makes a case regarding certain games, he really does it well.

His industry opinions, I tend to find that he’s a bit hardline on a few topics that I don?t whole heartedly think are bad, but I see where he?s coming from. Generally I do think he is pro-consumer and that is certainly a comforting voice most of the time.

Regarding his personal views and politics, I actually find myself agreeing with him more than I don?t. He got a little too involved in the gamergate argument for my liking but I don?t think he came from a bad place, and actually regarding a lot of that debate, he really produced a lot of good content and interviews that produced some of the more productive discussions on the matter. His 1 on 1 with Stephen Totilo from Kotaku was a really interesting discussion, as well as his interview of Rhianna Pratchett. This content seems to be completely ignored by his detractors. But of course I feel for him as he can?t seem to stay out of twitter brawls.

I like him. I think he's a bit overly obsessed with FOV sliders but some people say they have problems with their eyes and FOV sliders can often help with that so I'm not going to fault him for disseminating that kind of information to consumers who might want or need it.

Sometimes he can be a bit of a dick, especially when responding to silly internet whiners, who I mostly think are just young and stupid and will probably grow out of their petulant rage in a couple years. Case in point: The LauraKBuzz drama. Not that I'm making excuses for young and stupid people shitting on other people through the internet, I just think it would be far more productive to have a conversation with them and explain concepts like politeness and compassion and empathy.

He responds to legitimate criticisms fairly well, but now that he's stopped looking at his subreddit and closed his YouTube comment section I don't see how he's going to receive legit criticism anymore.

His WTFis... and PortReport series disseminate information that I, as a consumer find valuable and I will admit that his recommendations carry a deal of weight to them in my opinion.

He can make me laugh on occasion, especially in those big Polaris multiplayer matches but everyone on Polaris can make me laugh so I'm not giving bonus points there. It's kind of like giving BioWare good points for writing, you expect it.

Also, ETHICS! He did refuse to cover The Witcher 3 because he has financial and friendly ties to CDPR. So... yeah he does behave like a professional in that regard.
