Everyone should try to spread good music methinks. Buuut, I'mma run a scenario by you.TransientEntity said:What if an individual, in this case myself, tells people about bands nobody knows in an honest effort to spread good music, rather than to flaunt their "superior" musical tastes? Would that make them/me a hipster?Queen Michael said:Yes. Any at all of the above. Of course, to be a true hipster, you have to brag about this fact too.TransientEntity said:In terms of music, trends, art, all of the above, or what?Queen Michael said:To me, a hipster is someone who liked it befor it was cool.
Because everyone has at least one thing they liked before it became popular, I'd think.
There was a Halloween party I went to a few years back, started having a conversation about music with this one guy. At some point he mentioned a band I was unfamiliar with. I said something along the lines of, "Ah, never heard of 'em."
I was expecting him to describe the style of music or something along those lines at that point. Instead, his reply was "Yeah, I listen to a lot of bands nobody knows about." At that point I just turned my back on him and walked away. 'cause he was a total jag.
