well im just pissed of that Bethesda made this game without adding the basic immersion of a role-playing game like a wider variation of creatures they had at least 6 separate time to do that in the expansions but they ignored the basis of good games to fill you in on that life like game play.

Hummmm the dialogue was a bit weak if i`m completely honest and i agree the immersion was lacking ,but it still held me in for more than 3 days which is more than i can say of it`s now stable-mate fallout 3

gotta be the fucked up mess that was dialogue. also I didn't mind the scaled enemies, but I think they could've done it better. Also it got completely ridiculous when you were fighting bandits etc with DAEDRIC FUCKING ARMOUR and yet only 2 or 3 gold.

The dialogue was stale, repetative, and didnt match up well with the characters who were meant to be speaking.

There was a complete lack of immersion. The whole "expansive" environment was so uniform it was almost as if it were set in a theatre and rather than going from place to place, the backstage gremlins just wheeled in some new cardboard cut-out characters and props now and then.

Above all the difficulty curve is retarded. Yes, a game should become harder as you level up, scaling is desireable so that a game doesnt become boring for people who choose to do all the side quests. But Oblivion scales and then keeps going. There has to be something wrong with a game that punishes players for exploring, and rewards them for doing as little as possible, just running through the game trying not to level up.

Plus they killed off Patrick Stewart about 5 minutes in....

The ruins were all the same.

The spells are all the same ( blue ball/ red ball)

The items dont recharge by themselves.

The classes feel all the same. You can easilly become the most powerful wizard, even if you chose to be a barbarian.

Agreed, but could have been better done.

I don't know about anyone else, but the combat is shite. Hack, hack, block, block, hack, spell, hack, block. Wow, enthralling.

The character creation. Why bother with 'Assassin' or creating your own. Nothing works apart from the fighter/thief/mage blend.

The fact you can warp to any place instantly without going there. Why bother walking to a city when you can warp. At least in other RPGs you have to travel to the town first and often find other things on the way.

The quests for me felt boring and uninspiring, like I didn't want to help the world. I didn't play the game long enough, but it was enough to realise I don't want to waste more time playing it.

i get what your saying i saw two guys with the same voice talking to each other about goblins then two feet away two identical women are talking about the same subject in sync with the other guys

Regardless of what class you chose, you could still go and do everything and anything.

The horses are completely pointless, seeing as you can just map travel. Honestly, the only use Shadowmare got out of me was as a walking treasure chest.

The races now all feel the same. In Morrowind if you played as an Argonian (which I did a lot), you actually felt like you were playing as something other than a scaly human with big ears.

Bandits with Daedric Armor. That's all I really need to say I think.

The map is smaller than Morrowind's. Sure it looks a hell of a lot nicer, but my point is it used to take a good hour or two to get from one end of the map to the other, finding monsters, camps, interesting individuals and caves to explore along the way as the in-game days trailed by, not a leisurely Sunday jog where, rather than feeling like you've done some real exploring, you're literally tripping over locations left and right and make it to the other end of the map in less than 15 minutes.

My biggest peeve, however, is that THEY TOOK AWAY THE SPEARS! What's wrong with spears? I always took the Spear skill in Morrowind because of the extra few feet of range.

I love oblivion. However there are loads of things they can improve on...

1. Spells are crap. There are 3 types of destruction spells and they are all the same thing really. Need to get a spell system like Neverwinter Nights or hell even Fable...

2. Yeah could of done with a few more creatures.

3. Voice thingy. Can always be improved.

...there are more but im tired.

The spells felt poorly done and hard to control, and most of them were useless.

Voice acting has already been said but needs to be repeated until Bethesda get it right.

Once you finished the quests in a certain faction and become the boss, you don't feel part of them anymore.

The law system sucks. Even with a sneak of 100 I can't hide from a guard after he sees me break the law, and even if I outrun him he still knows exactly where I am.

No scaled enemies. There should be fixed weak enemies and then ultimate boss enemies scattered across the map, like keep the bandits pathetic and have a dragon nest up in the mountains somewhere.

Patrick Stewart gets killed off. That was a mistake.

Creating your own spells annoyed me the most. First you have to get into the arcane university (which is very boring, long and unnecessary), then you needed tons of gold just to make one spell, and then you needed soul gems that were powerful enough for the spell you're making. This meant that I couldn't make any of the spells I wanted and if I did they were always underpowered/cost a ridiculous amount of magic to use.

On the whole I really enjoyed Oblivion despite these shortcomings.

Mostly the dialogue, but I didn't have any problem with "lack of immersion". I was immersed as soon as I stepped out of the sewers.

Not sure if it was just a typo, but it's "Stale-mate"

OT: The personality of the characters really gets (Yes, i just started playing it again) to me.. Unlike fallout 3 which nearly all the characters had their own specific voice and personality.

It is kinda odd when you're talking to someone and their voice changes from soothing and gentle, to shouting, deep and manly, then back to soothing and gentle in the next sentence they say.
