Pokemon - Always a good choice, nice in depth strategy
Advance Wars: Days of ruin AKA dark conflict - An awesome turn based strategy game
Scribblenauts - Fun little timewaster
Chrono Trigger - excellent RPG
The World Ends With You - another excellent RPG with an original combat style
CoD: MW2 - Great shooter for DS with fun multiplayer
Metroid Prime Hunters - Sames as above but sadly less active

Those are all I can think of off the top of my head.

I'm going to go old school and recommend the "Etrian Oddysey" series, "The Dark Spire", "Izuna"

and peggle. Those see the most play time for me.

I see what you did there.

But I must also say Chrono Trigger, misplaced as it may seem after the sarcasm.

If you don't mind a bit of reading, Hotel Dusk was fantastic. Great story, great writing, interesting characters and fascinating twists.

Oh, and New Super Mario Bros. is absolutely the first game you should buy. Best 2D Mario ever? It's in the conversation.

Ahh yes hotel dusk WAS good. I need to get around to finishing that. It's the perfect relaxing game to play when you want to just lie down and enjoy a story.

Well I love a good RPG, so...

Chrono Trigger, Pokemon, The World Ends With You.

You can also get some great Nintendo exclusives like....

New Super Mario Bros, Super Mario 64 DS, Zelda stuff.....Mario Kart.

And CHRONO TRIGGER!!!!

Edit:Lemme explain Chrono Trigger. It is one of the best RPGs on the SNES, and one of the best of all time. It has a fun and engaing batle system, and a great story that kept me playing for a long time. And I'm still playing it!

Pokemon is just an addicting franchise. Turn based RPG with a lot of strategy.

The World Ends With You uses a 2 screen combat system that keeps you entertained once you figure it out.

Mario and Zelda are just that. I shouldn't need to explain it. Mario jumps over pipes and you find boomerangs and stuff in Zelda. Yay.

Pokemon Platinum. Pokemon HeartGold (when it comes out). Golden Sun DS (if you have played the previous titles (also, I'll know more when it comes out as I am basing this entire recommendation off fan-boy-ism)).

Hmm
Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass
Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks
Chrono Trigger (One of the best RPGs of all time)
Pokemon Platinum
Advance Wars: Dual Strike (Part of the fantastic Nintendo Wars series, turn based strategy)
Advance Wars: Days of Ruin (Same as above but with a darker tone/different gameplay mechanics)
Any of the Castlevania games
Any of the Phoenix Wright games
The World Ends With You
Phantasy Star 0 (It feels like Phantasy Star Online in your hands!)
Those are all the games I am always playing and are always entertaining and full of replay value.
