I've been listening to Ayreon's "The Human Equation" for a couple of weeks now. Simply incredible. I can't really describe it in its magnificence, so you'd best go listen to it for yourself.
Is that a metal album by any chance? If it is I think I may have heard it.

The Arcade Fire's Funeral, Avenged Sevenfold's self titled, Enter Shikari's Common Dreads, Band of Horses' Infinite Arms, Architecture in Helsinki's Fingers Crossed, The Decemberists' The Crane Wife, Rise Against's Appeal to Reason... Heaps. I listen to bands by the album mostly.

Recently? Well, the new one by Kings of Leon probably half-a-dozen times since getting it for Xmas, and both Doolittle and Double Nickels on the Dime have been back in my heavy rotation in the last few weeks. However, I generally don't buy albums that I don't enjoy nearly completely from front to back, so I guess pretty much every album I own could fit the bill, depending on my mood. If there's an album where I only like a handful of songs and the rest is crap, I'll just buy singles.

Periphery's Self Titled album.

Listened to a few of their songs before (mainly Icarus Lives) but I finally got the whole album. Icarus Lives is probably still my favorite though.
*High fives*

Fuck yeah, another one for the camp!

Icarus lives was my favourite for ages, now it's a tossup between letter experiment and racecar.

15 minute prog epic you say?

Yes please! :D
Racecar is crazy good as well, but I'm a sucker for long songs.

Also, the announcer at the end of Icarus Lives makes the album.

I recently bought Archetype by Fear Factory, It had been years since the last time I listened to them. I shouldn't have left it that long, they're awesome.

Heavy and powerfull riffs, play at full blast.

Weaver at the Loom - I Was Searching and I Found

It's a five-track EP and it's just brilliant. Also the song titles are a poem:

Buck Up, They're Coming
You Can't Escape Them
You Can't Evade Them
But You Can Enjoy Life Before and After
Without Fear of Their Return

The Arcade Fire - Funeral

super duper good.
Nice, nice.

I've been getting into Deerhunter's "Halcyon Digest" and Spoon's "Transference" a bit more, lately. Oh, same with Avi Buffalo's "Avi Buffalo".

Two albums right now

Asylum- Disturbed

Tribe of Force - Van Canto
A Van Canto fan! None of my friends seem to appreciate the awesomeness -_-.

For me it's been Whoracle by In Flames. Or...any of the Muse albums I have.

Pink Floyd - Dark side of the moon.
Peter Gabriel - So.
Anthony and the Johnsons - I am a bird now.
Dave Weckl - Transition.
John Patitucci - Heart of the Bass.
Mayhem - De Mysteriis dom Sathanas.
Spektr - Near Death Experience.
Watain - Casus Luciferi / Sworn to the Dark.
Dissection - Reinkaos / Storm of the Lights Bane / the Somberlain.
Funeral Mist - Salvation.
Alice in Chains - Unplugged.
Sunn O))) - White one/two.
The Pillows - Fool on the planet.

All really solid albums that are thoroughly gripping and sometimes a heart rendering experience.
But to name an all time number one album, I have to make a split first place:

Tom Waits - the Heart of Saturday Night.
and Miles Davies - Kind of Blue.

Nothing has yet to top them, in my own opinion.

The Beach Boys-Surf's Up.

I am really enjoying it! I've always liked the song, "Surf's Up", and I never really payed attention to the rest of the Album. But now that I am looking up the other songs, I am realizing they are really awesome!

Yep. Progressive metal, actually.
