What fandom do you think makes the best content?

So, let's try this again. Try not to argue that much this time, Escapist. I'm going to mention the bad sides of Bronies in my OP, if you don't like them then deal with it and don't reply to me. Seriously guys, I'm making a thread about positive opinions, I reckon if this thread was called "Worst" fandom you would all behave more civily. You guys dissapoint me sometimes...

OT: So, what fandom do you think makes the best fanart/fanfic/fan music/mods/fan games and others. There's a lot to choose from and a LOT of people with time on their hands to use making things based on their favorite game, book, film or TV show.

Personally, I think bronies make the best stuff, mainly because of the sheer amount of amazing stuff we can make in such a short time. The season 2 finale aired with a new villian, next day about 70 pieces of art that were all beautiful of the new villian AND about 10 remixes of the new songs. Sure, we have some bad areas (Cloppers, Gorefics/art and Clopfics), but I think the amount of sheer amazing stuff we make more than makes up for it.

So Escapist, opinions on this question?

I'ma go with Halo. Because I've also heard some pretty good related songs, played some awesome community maps, and watched a lot of great videos.
Assuming that counts as a valid choice...

Why wouldn't it count? Halo has a fandom, and they make content such as machinimas so yeah, it counts. Not arguing with you, but bronies do make a LOT of songs relating to MLP, most of them are amazing. But you've got your choice and you can stick with it

Why wouldn't it count? Halo has a fandom, and they make content such as machinimas so yeah, it counts. Not arguing with you, but bronies do make a LOT of songs relating to MLP, most of them are amazing. But you've got your choice and you can stick with it

Sweet, sticking with that choice then.
I have actually listened to quite a bit of the music from MLP, and there's undoubtedly a lot of talent around.

Warhammer 40k!

The stories and fan-fluff from the Warhammer 40k universe are amazing. I esspecially like the way they integrate stuff from the models into their ramblings
(Like always depicting all the fanart of Abaddon - a high ranking, pure evil general of Chaos, with no arms, because they usually broke off his flimsy game model)

Because of this it's now pretty much accepted Fannon that Abaddon has no arms, and all his feats in the official fluff that require the use of arms just goes to show how badass he is.

There's a character called Kharn the Betrayer; another Chaos general supposed to be pure evil, who has so much bloodlust that occaionally he will attack his own troops just for the mayhem. This led the collective fanbase to decide he was just in it "for the lulz" and that he was an awesome guy: http://1d4chan.org/wiki/Kh%C3%A2rn

I love that they just seem to have so much fun with the setting of 40K, especially since it is kind of designed so you create your own army with your own designs and colours, inevitably leading to people doing this:

Someone somewhere spent about $200 buying all those pieces, and then they decided "I know! I'll paint it purple and cover it in hearts!"

It's just the fact that you felt the need to put it there, when you didn't even need to do it. You could of just said "I don't think bronies make that much good stuff" and we would of all been fine, but you HAD to post something that just comes off as you trying to start a flame war.

TF2 and GMOD have spawned many a good video. But as much as I love these videos, a lot of them reflect the young age of a lot of the fans, and now that TF2 is f2p its kind of worse. Nothing beats Nope.avi and Erectin' a River though.

Personally I would have to say TES. I mean, the modding community is massive for that game, and has even spread into Fallout 3 and NV. Never have I seen a game with so much fan made content that the developers ENCOURAGE. Its like we're in some weird backwards land where people don't overprice dlc and lock content and put on drm or something......

I mean, TF2 has the workshop, but a lot of stuff is just 3d rendered models that aren't in game, and if they are, the entire server would have to download them, so you never see them. Yea its cool, but Elder Scrolls mods you can actually USE all of them.

Halo is pretty amazing as well, I know it gets a lot of crap for being A KIDDY GAME FER DA XBOX LULZ like Call of Duty, but its still an awesome game worthy of the praise. And really? Playing xbox for like, 2 years, I've only had maybe 2 kids at the most use their mics, and half of the time they aren't even that annoying. This is across all the xbox games I own, even CoD, Halo, and GoW. I think people like to over exaggerate to seem cool on the internet.

EDIT: Also, I'm not sure if .MOV fits into the 'weird' bronies, but it's well drawn/animated and pretty funny if you get that kind of sick humor.

They make some but its ultimately outweighed by their ability to bring rage to any community on the internet. Just by observation. And by spoilering it i was acting to avoid said problem, which was kind of ruined by you pointing it out

Just Valve fans in general, whether it be for Team Fortress, Half-Life, Portal, or Counter-Strike. Between all the great machinima, fan films, mods, songs, and whatever else, it seems like half the enjoyment I get out of their games comes from what the fans make with them.
