Unfortunately, I didn't read the OP at all. So, please, facepalm if you must if the OP restricted these fictional characters to just animes. Personally, I don't wish to restrict myself to just those.

You are correct! I shall grant thee a hint: The game that they are in came out for the original Playstation.

Even assuming I have a vast knowledge on the PS1's over 700 titles lybrary, that's a bit vague for a clue, don't you agree? I can only assume it's either an JRPG (because DHU) or a Fighting game (because ZHU), but other than that I'll need more intel to work on. Care to drop the charade, my good man?

They're from the game Grandia. It's an RPG and one of the best I've ever played. The combat is a bit different from most other RPGs, but the story line is great and it has tremendous depth, as well as complex dungeons. A little sluggish on the graphics side, but given an overhaul, it would be an even more awesome game than it already is. OH, both of these characters (Feena is the top one and her older twin Leen is on the bottom) are Icarians. Feena's Icarian form is especially cute.

Shoggoths, as I've said before, are the perfect soldiers: basically indestructable, massive, acidic to the touch, can force it's body into any shape it desires (or is ordered to), follows any order without question, and to top it off, it would easily strike fear into the hearts of my enemies. They're a bit slow, but meh, who cares?
Also, they're technically neither good nor evil: they simply act on instinct.
If I can't pick a Shoggoth, probably Scorpion or Reptile.

While I like all of the MK ninjas, Scorpion and Reptile have always been my favorites.

Why don't you just have a Shoggoth take the form of Scorpion and Reptile? Best of both worlds!

I wouldn't seriously want him on my side, though. They're not my favorite characters in the world, but if I want some serious protection, I'm gonna have to go with Superman or Goku. First, they're both extremely powerful. Then, unless you have kryptonite or the sun is red, you can't really kill Superman, and if you kill Goku, he'll find some way or another to come back. Yeah, I'll take them on my side, please.
