What "final boss," or "final battle," do you hate the most?

Colonel Autumn.

Everything is leading up to me! "Oooh be scared!"

1 shot. Dead.

What the Fu-
I did not mind that so much because it was more of a cinimatic that you played. Theres not a difficult part of the last level its just epic. your watching first hand the final blow aginst the enclave. And liberty prime blows alota shit up thats a plus.

The lambent Brumack from Gears 2. All you have to do is hold down the fire button for about 15 seconds.
in my oppinion gears 2 just failed epicly in the story department. the first was epic and tense. gears 2 was prdictable and the voice acting just phoned it in. the soul of the characters just wasnt there like in the first one

Well, it's split between two bosses for me...

Colonel Autumn in Fallout 3, the man, the big bad guy who coldly murdered your father. One shotgun to the face later he's an extremely unsatisfying pile of giblets. Hell, he was dead before the miniguns of his guards were up to firing speed.

On the other end of the spectrum we find Titan Quest. Not only does Typhon, the final boss, have a health bar made of cast iron, he also has a wide variety of moves easily able to kill you in a single blow. To add to the frustration one of his more frequent attacks is a life leech. So after about half a bloody hour of nearly dying and attacking in the painfully brief moments after one of his special moves (at all other times going anywhere near him is certain death.) and rapidly running out of potions to keep my ass alive, I finally manage to nail the sodding bastard. My sense of joy was however quickly shattered when some bloke claiming to be a god showed up and thanked me briefly before showing me the door and urging me to leave.

Now that I think of it, Titan quest had a lot of those bullshitty bossfights with inescapable oneshot moves, especially on the higher difficulties...

I was enjoying Heavenly Sword, challenging...but not frustrating, as it was. When all of a sudden the difficulty spikes on the final boss...not just a little. I don't find attempting the same segment of a game over and over to be fun at all, especially not when the pricks health bar takes a few minutes to wear down...and only then does he decide to crush you.

I know it's not a final boss, but I'mma go with the two scarabs part on Halo 3 Legendary difficulty. I found it to be the hardest bit in the game. And I now perminently have the phrase "I GOT TWO SCARABS, REPEAT, TWO SCARABS" ingrained in my brain.

It's so rare newer games have a big bad final boss anymore. The last mainstream game I can remember that did have one was Gears of War 1. God, RAAM was such an awesome fight! Shame the follow up to that was a mutated lambent Brumak which died after 3 hits with a Hammer of Dawn in a place that you couldn't even be hit let alone die!

Halo 3s final boss was not satisfying at all. I mean all I had to do was shoot it a few times.
Isn't that how you kill EVERY boss in a Halo game?

I'm gonna change the pattern of "too easy" and go with impossible now. Jafar in Aladdin on the Mega Drive. I still don't know how to beat that bastard. Nothing seems to hurt him. That's the only final boss I've fought against who I've never been able to even hit. Also, Jecht in FF10 took me a few tries. But I think it's because I didn't have the patience after 40 hours of the game.

The titular The Guy from I Wanna Be The Guy.

Phase 1, easy timewaster. Stand in a non-stupid spot and you won't die.

Phase 2, don't fluff an easy jump timing and you won't die.

Phase 3, don't fluff an easy jump - double-jump combo and you won't die.

Phase 4, double jump shoot three times double jump shoot three times etc etc. Can't die at all, easiest phase in any boss in the game.

Phase 5, SUDDENLY CONTACT LENSES. Because of the extra shot and the possibility of missing and the increased fireball frequency, you can actually die here!

Phase 6, CONTACT LENSES, FIREBALLS, TEETH MISSILES AND EVERYTHING IS ON FIRE AND THE BOSS HAS ADAMANIUM EYEBROWS OF INPENETRABILITY. The only part of the fight that is genuinely hard, and it's only made more frustrating because it takes a repetative 5 phases to even get to this point again. I've all but given up because the fight's just so damn boring.

Sorry I meant too easy. At least in halo 2 it was somewhat difficult.

Diablo 2 (though an awesome game) did have a lot of bosses who were just a massive pain in the ass, or worse, used incredibly cheap moves. Second boss stands out in particular. Boss fights tended too be tests to see if you'd collected enough health potions and how good you were at putting them on your hot bar while running away from stuff.

Guilty spark at the end of Halo 3. Even on insane difficulty I didn't die once, and I died A LOT on insane difficulty.

It used to be Ultimecia from Final Fantasy 8. Stupid boss had like 4 stages. I couldn't beat her.

Then I discovered the true art of the junction.

(Islands closest to Heaven and Hell FTW)

final boss guy in Madworld. it was such a let down for a final fight. not to mention you only needed to do the same thing as every other boss fight (dodge attack and chainsaw the back).
I really liked that boss. You have to very careful though, he could take a massive amount of health away if he hit you just once.

On topic: SETH. I have not remembered a video game boss getting on my nerves so much. With Ryu and similar characters, he is no problem, but with characters with a limited projectile attacks, you have be very careful to avoid all contact with him in the second stage because of how quick he pulls off special attacks. Also teleporting around the stage so the vast majority of my attacks miss and then he counters with an inescapeable throw......I wanted to rip my hair out when I fought him.

Lord Lucien, anyone?
Yeah, I was going to say that hes shown earlier in the game using intense dark magic, he shoots your dog and through the entire game hes talked about as the all-powerful leader of the bad guys or whatever and he dies in one shot the funny thing is when I did that battle it took me a while to figure out that you had to hold the button when using the music box not tap it so it took a little longer than average, by then I had been playing all day and was delirious from Fable's repetition.
