I would love another Metal Storm game. It's an old NES game that came out right as the NES became obsolete. I would love a Way Forward side-scroller.
VVVVVV stole the idea of changing your personal gravity from Metal Storm only in Metal Storm you're in a mech and you shoot as well as platform. Basically it's Mega Man + VVVVVV while using a decades dead license.

I also wouldn't mind another game like Dark Void Zero, the DSi Ware game that's so much better than the console game it's based on.

Lords of Magic, my first strategy game. It was a primitive cross between Total War and an RPG set in a fantasy world with an awesome magic system. Wasted so much of my youth on that game, and still take it out for a spin every so often. A sequel with modern graphics, larger scale, and spruced up mechanics would be amazing.

Rogue Squadron desperately needs a modern cross-platform game, the potential for something awesome is there especially if they lifted mechanics from the X-wing and TIE fighter games.

I just wished there were games like the old Lineage 2 and Mu Online. MMO's not filled with a shit ton micro-transactions sitting all over the place, has the old punishment system and isn't so restricted on the rules, where the game play is a lot simpler where you don't need to use a whole lot instead of using the same frikken' combo for over 1000 mobs to level, and the style doesn't look like some over the top anime for otaku's.

That's mainly it for now, as well more Metroidvania's and another SSB Melee type game (no, didn't bring up the new one).

Metroid 2D/3D/Prime- (We're all broken records, here. I'm just another needle hop.) 2D Metroid was almost perfected (excellent control and perfect blend of sequence breaking and optional hand holding) in my eyes by Zero Mission. Ten years have passed with no 2D installment to perfect that formula further. Other M put a kibosh on the Prime's 3D winning streak. Almost 8 years since Prime 3.

Jak and Daxter- I'd rather see it get rebooted and go for the more lighted tone of The Precursor Legacy, Naughty Dog can add the morphing gun and snark if they really need to make him somewhat hardcore. I still miss the eco powers and the lore of the original game. The tone shift and Grand Theft Auto and Ratchet and Clank gameplay just makes the rest of the series seem out of place to someone who played the original when it came out.

Crash Bandicoot and Spyro the Dragon- I, too, would love to see the orange and purple guys go back to their roots. Maybe as smaller side projects, but with the care of their original trilogies, that are download only.

Conker- MS has owned Rare for what? 10 years or so. How come they haven't at least made one original game with the foul-mouthed rodent and all the crazy, equally kid-unfriendly characters we can expect.

Ecco the Dolphin- If you played the Genesis/Megadrive games, you know this isn't just some kid's dolphin simulator. Maybe a reboot with an HD Vortex Queen staring at you as the opening cutscene unfolds will set the mood.

Okami- The Wii U could be the perfect console for a sequel to this gorgeous series, with the touchscreen of the DS with the power of a home console. Okamiden was a great sequel, but was really held back by the DS's limitations.

Dark Cloud- These were really good dungeon crawlers that still grace my PS2 occasionally. Two bad Level 5 went on to other things. It would be great if we at least got an HD compilation (maybe with Rogue Galaxy included as well).

I dunno about "forgotten", but...

-Secret of Mana
-Secret of Evermore
-Front Mission (not that ridiculous 3D bastardization of Gun Hazard either)
-MechWarrior (that isn't an MMO/F2P)
-2D Metroid
-Quake (ala Quake 1; fast paced action, rocket/grenade jumping, castles n guns)
-Twisted Metal: Black (also, non-MMO)

Seriously Edios, where the FUCK is my sequel?! You promised a sequel years ago and haven't delievered.

There's so much potential with directions a sequel could take, but we'll never see them because Edios doesn't give a shit.
Oh my god, I totally remember this game! So good.

Also, Future Cop L.A.P.D, Hellbender, C&C Renegade and Mechwarrior.

There are quite a few on my list.
Some have actually gotten treatment, like Battlefront (please be good).

Jak and Daxter.

Jak and Daxter was my childhood. I loved the first, with it's great platforming, characters, and enviroments.
Then Jak 2 came along, and made it a hundred times better. They gave dark powers, a cold city, and badass hover cars. Plus Jak got a voice, which was surprising ...
Now Jak 3, that was a masterpiece, that is all I want to say.

I would love a fourth one, but at this moment in time. I don't think Naughty Dog could handle it, they've moved on to Last of Us (which I personally disliked), so I actually think they've lost the right to do this series. Maybe the same for Crash, I don't know.

Crash Bandicoot.
&
Spyro the Dragon.

These two have bee paired, because they have been treated pretty damn badly. Crash has been pulled away from Naughty Dog, who should have always had this series. It's disappointing that ND have forgotten about Crash. As for Spyro, a couple of bad games, and he was sacrificed to the rise of the Skylander franchise. Man, these two need better handling.

Dark Cloud.

I've always heard that this was a great series.
I haven't completed the game, but I've played the demo.
Jesus, I regret not playing this series, and I think it would be a treat if it got a HD remake or something.

Advent rising. Its been at the top of my list for years. It was a buggy game with its issues but when the gameplay got going it was really really good. Plus that story is one of the most original and interesting takes on a sci-fi universe that I have ever seen. As most games do these days it ended on a massive cliff hanger and if I had one video game story that I could see complete before I die it would be this one

Alpha protocol: A cult classic spy thriller that I absolutely adore for its great gameplay mechanics, flexibility to play the game any way you want, and its predictable yet perfectly executed plot. I would like to see Michael Thorton create his own version of alpha protocol operating as an independant black operation to defend the world (not just the USA) from people that want to distabilize the turbulent peace we share. Within that organization we get to create our own agents. Rather then call it alpha protocol 2 I would just like to see each one titled Alpha protocol: insert the story's name here. That way we can differentiate the stories easily

Saints row: Ok I know people like it as a parody series and thats ok. However with GTA going super serious and Saints row going super silly I feel like theres a middle ground that no franchise covers anymore. For me Saints row 3 was the perfect amount of gangster hijinks and silly fun and I would like to get back to that.

Far cry 3 Blood dragon: 80's cheese at its best and IMO the best game ubisoft has released since far cry 3. I want more standalone cyber-adventure goodness with Rex Power Colt! I dont know if I would say its forgotten but we could certainly use more of it

Shadowrun: I know its odd to say this when we got Shadowrun returns 2 years ago and the even better shadowrun dragonfall last year and with a new kickstarter going for another shadowrun going on now. It seems like Harebrained schemes is the only ones doing Shadowrun content (they own the IP if Im not mistaken) but I would like to see other developers take a shot at it. Its a really rich and interesting IP and theres so much you can do with it. Personally I would love to see a Omerta style game set in the shadowrun setting. Let me build my own crime syndicate

Space Marine and other warhammer 40k games: Space marine had a cliffhanger at the end of the game with Captain Tidus killing an archdemon and then being taken in by the inquisition. Ok cool, can we get that sequel now? Space marine was freaking awesome in scope, design, and story (the only bad bit was the final boss fight bit which was a massive quicktime event when it could have been a dark souls style boss fight). I would like to see that sequel but at the same time I would like to see a similar story as an Ork or the Eldar. Lets get away from the imperium of man, they already got 2 excellent games (dawn of war 2 and space marine). Its time to branch out

Hitman: Ive only played hitman 2, blood money, and absolution. Hitman 2 was probably my favorite. That said, we need more stealthy assassin score attack style games. Maybe even a new franchise because the hitman games themselves have really gone downhill IMO

Viewtiful Joe: Another one that had a cliffhanger at the end but I loved VJ's style and the character was pretty awesome too.

Master of orion: We've had a lack of 4x style games in recent years. The last I can remember off the top of my head is Age of wonders 3 but the last space one was stardrive which had major performance issues (it may still I havnt played it in awhile). Ild like to see Master of orion with a new coat of paint, new races, and a ton of control for building your empire. The more complicated the better

Dawn of war: Why does dawn of war get a spot when I already mentioned 40k games? Because dawn of war. Dawn of war 2 is to this day my favorite RTS ever created (though I havnt played Grey goo yet). Its concentration on squad based RTS is what really drove it home for me and the 40k setting just makes it that much better. There was even a time when I competed against some of the worlds best Dawn of war players in the ladder (though I never made it past the early 20s). I think its time for Dawn of war 3 with the addition of the Tau and Necrons

Jade Empire: What happens when you let old bioware take themes from ancient japan, china, and korea with a focus on an action based and varied martial arts combat system? A timeless masterpiece that is IMO one of the best RPGs ever made and hands down the best "east themed" RPG ever made. The story of the water dragon was a great epic and there has to be a lot more that can be done with the Jade empire series

Road War! the post apocalyptic game where you recruit hundreds of soldiers, and dozens of assorted cars to rove around a nation (they did U.S, and Europe) battling, making allies, building an empire, and so forth while seeking VIPs.

Oni! Futuristic super police woman battles in an anime-ish world against crime!

Tenchu! Coz if Ubisoft won't go to Japan with Assassin's Creed, Tenchu will! And they won't likely copout with some lame excuse as to why there can't be a female assassin, like "It's too hard!!". Hopefully they can get the Kosugi's to mo-cap again.
I played (but never finished) Oni on PS2, and I finished the Ghost in the Shell game, and I find it funny how I thought Oni was a better Ghost in the Shell game.

Considering how far control schemes have come, like with the latest iteration of Saints Row or the Spider Man games (better yet, Titanfall), I think the time is right to introduce a properly implemented Tachikoma in a GITS game. And for that matter, the Landmates from Appleseed which were liberally "borrowed" for GITS.[footnote]Yes, both are Shirow's creations, I know[/footnote] Rankings could be used to unlock special costumes like the Major and everyone else.

But I'm getting away from the topic at hand, and to your original point, yes, I think Oni deserves to be revived. It was ahead of its time when it tried to seamlessly integrate melee with guns, and I haven't run across another game as ambitious as Oni when it comes to combat. It was almost done with Saints Row the Third and onwards, but there's a delay between hand-to-hand and guns.

I still have my discs for No One Lives Forever 1 & 2. I was pleasantly surprised when they installed on Windows 7 and ran perfectly. It'll be a sad day for me once 7 is abandoned by Microsoft. Once Windows 10 rolls around I'm definitely going to try installing them there as well.

I saw parallels in the character design between Oni, and GitS, but that's about as far as I took it. Oni didn't seem like a GitS game to me.

I can't really imagine a properly implemented Tachikoma since they're sentient tanks that aren't used constantly. Have you played the PSX ghost in the shell game, though? It's all Fuchikoma (Older red tanks instead of the Production I.G. Blue ones.), all the time, and it's pretty good.

Oni was pretty progressive, yeah. I feel like it could be broadened into a more open world cop game.

My apologies, I should have clarified. It was more about the hand-to-hand than anything else that reminded me of GITS. Physical combat these days has been reduced to [Hit button to attack] and in Oni you definitely had to earn each physical takedown.

And regarding the Tachikomas, I only played the SAC game on PS2, and had no idea there was a PS1 version lol. I mean, I laugh because the idea of running a GITS game on PS1 seems so impossible it's bizarre. And sure enough, I found it thanks to you:
Vertigo-inducing, wall-climbing gameplay the likes of which has only been experienced in games like Aliens vs Predator.

Thanks, man. I'm going to have to keep an eye out for this should it ever appear on PSN.
