Half life 2 and either of the episodes: Take the first skeleton you see and pick him up with your grav gun, his name is Sid, he MUST accompany you through as much of the game as you can manage.

Sometimes I run through games trying to just use the pistol.
I did a Pistol-only run for both Max Payne games. Very satisfying. I think I did something similar for Duke Nukem 64...That's the only one I really remember since I don't do a lot of that

OH! Also had a pistol-only run in Grand Theft Auto IV's story mode.

Hitman: Blood Money without killing anyone but the target(s), not getting your disguise blown or using guns. It's quite difficult! <:-O

Usually looking up walkthroughs in RPG and trying to get/do/complete every single thing in the game. In games like FFXII or Lost Odyssey, this cane make the games like 50% longer then what the main story suggests. Hell some areas of FFXII aren't even required to step foot in to finish the main quest.

I'm currently trying to play through Dark Souls without throwing my controller out the window... It's a surprisingly difficult self imposed challenge really.
How you doing with that? I'm actually doing surprisingly well. Finding it a lot easier then Demon's Souls for some reason. As long as you take the time to upgrade your equipment and level up yourself, the monsters seem to scale well. Stuff that gave you a problem a few hours a go are a breeze after some more self enhancements. It seems to be all about judging when you're ready for certain areas.

Personally I'm done with all the inner areas, with surprisingly little rage. Now I have to venture into the Demon Ruins, Sens Fortress, Chamber of the Giants or Londo Ruins. I have a feeling my rage-free play my end here...

I used to clean every level in Goldeneye and Duke Nukem 3D and then... just explore it or invent some story along the way.
For example, in Red Light District level of Duke Nukem 3D, I played as a demolition worker. First, I would go inspect the building in front of the strip bar, blow it to pieces, inspect the debris and finish my workday. Then, I would head into the 7-eleven, buy a magazine and head back to the strip bar for a well deserved rest.

In GTA3, I would work a week, as a truck driver, loading and unloading stuff from one part of Portland to the other and then I would snap and kill a lot of people before dying in a last stand.
