It has definitely got to be the Little Rocket Man achievement in Half Life 2: Episode 2. I saw it and had to do it for my namesake.

For those of you who haven't heard of it, its when you find a little garden gnome at the beginning of the game and painstakingly bring him all the way to the end and send him into space.

I beat Devil May Cry 3 on the hardest difficulty. Not the one where EVERYTHING(including you) dies in 1 shot because you could just spam the Gunslinger branch and it's piss easy. I'm talking about the hardest hardest. And I beat the original version, not the revamped Special Edition with a playable Virgil that's supposed to be easier than the original.
I feel your pain mate Virgil was an utter nightmare

My greatest achievements:

Expert completed on guitar hero 1, 2, 3, world tour and metallica (Guitar)
Expert drums completed on guitar hero world tour and expert + on Metallica
Through the Fire and Flames Expert
Devil May Cry 3 on Dante must Die mode
Tom Clancy: Vegas 2 on realistic
Ninja Gaiden 2 on Normal
Left 4 Dead Zombie Genocide
Disgaea Hour of Darkness defeat the overlord of terror Bael

Can't remember any other ones but I have beaten a lot of games

umm..."Campaign Complete: Legendary" on Halo 3 and ODST. i haven't gotten any other miraculous achievements on many other games. i should have a medal for beating FFVII dirge of cerberus on extremely hard difficulty though. F**king Shinra building, f**k man.
Damn, how long did it take to get past that one Flood level?
what, Cortana? that was in the area about 1.5 hours at the most. just a bunch of running and strategic leaping mostly. my longest jam on that game was the 2nd level, took like 3 and a half hours to get past one checkpoint full of brutes. assholes.
halo 3 took me a week, and odst only took a few months because i didnt have the game for most of it. without the breaks in days, they took only around 20 hours at most each. odst a little more though. fun challenges.

I have the Master Assassin trophy from AC2. It's not much, but it's a platinum trophy. I also finished the MW2 campaign on Veteran, which was rather difficult.

It's also a nice bonus when the game tells you that "you have huge demon balls" when you beat its hardest difficulty
That is made of awesome. Big, demonic, ball-shaped awesome.

I am aiming for the 100% in RDR at the moment, will be quite proud of that when I get it.
Hi! what a coincidence. that we both post on the escapist apparently. haha

OT:
It's sortof sad that i'm proud of it. but i love OMGWTFBBQ achievement on TF2, hadouken....

On an unrelated note. My computer believes that that last sentence ends in 5 spelling mistakes, for 4 words. and offers NO solutions. Thanks Chrome.

oh and the lumberjack on BFBC. Its the simple things for me i guess..

Little Rocket Man. And I swear, if I ever see another lawn gnome again...
This.

I remember the first time I tried for this achievement I was playing with the Audio Commentary on (not realizing that this disables achievements). When I got to the rocket and I didn't hear the "Achievement sound," I was royally pissed, and perhaps a little heart broken. It was a good two months before I could bring myself to try again.

Ooh yes and the Guardin' Gnome achievement, which I'm doubly proud of cos I did it all by myself in single player, which is NASTY difficult, even on easy.

Little Rocket Man from Half Life 2: Episode 2, my internet connection stopped working when I got the achievement, so Steam isn't showing it. :(
I'm also proud of getting 10000 heal points as a Medic in Team Fortress 2, that's hard to get.

I got that as a sheer accident very early on, before I knew it was an achievement.

I dunno, I recently got Hotshot in TF2, for killing a soldier with a reflected crit rawket, and I was pretty proud of that. I also have all Spy achievements legit except Sap Auteur (1000 saps, I have about 600) so that's pretty cool.

"what game achievement are you the most proud of?"

The ones I make up in my head because the real ones just aren't that good.

No one in particular. My favorite group of achievements however consists of several games completed on their hardest difficulties, including both Mass Effects and MW2(And the disc was in the process of dying at the time, so the game would crash randomly. FUN.). I would have Call of Duty: WaW by now if it weren't for the fact that grenades seem to fall from the god damned sky in that game.
