Also, a remake of FFV or FFIX. I love those games till the day I die.
I so agree with this, at least on the FFIX front. It's my favorite game ever (though I don't know if I necessarily need it remade - I think it's one of the few in the FF series that has aged REALLY well).

A proper Star Wars Rogue Squadron with the characters from the comics, a proper Star Wars bounty hunting game, Rock Band 4(i'll be surprised if they make one) or Banjo Threeie

A horror game based on a real war scenario.

You know, like the one that didn't game made because Konami wouldn't back up the developers when controversy started brewing.

A new Gauntlet game for the 360 with online multiplayer. The only thing that could beat that (game wise) is if Skyrim decided to move up it's release date and come out right now.

A remake of Xenogears with an actually completed second disc.
Actually, this so very very much. Xenogears is to this day the greatest RPG ever made. Period. Better than crono trigger, better than final fantasy. The prequels kind of sucked but the plot to xenogears is beyond frigging epic. But disc 2 was rushed like a fiend.

A remake with a properly completed second disc would make it easily the greatest RPG that ever has, or ever will exist.

Love, Lies and giant fucking robots. There is no combination with more win.
No kidding right? Just clean up the sprite work, get better voice actors, maybe check the dialog for mistranslations and as said before, complete Disc 2, and BAM one of the best games ever. Maybe for kicks, included the info thats in Xenogears: Perfect Works in the game.

This thread is making my want to faceplam HARD.
If any of you are ever wondering why all we ever seem to get these days are "sequels, ripoffs, and wank," as Yahtzee so eloquently put it, look yourselves in the mirror and you'll find the answer.
I don't really think so, it makes sense that sequel announcements are more likely to make someone crap there pants, because the excitement from the original game is already there and can use it as a launch pad. It doesn't necessarily mean people don't want original content or new IP's.
"warcraft 4"
"Sim City 5"
"Colony Wars 4"
"Jedi knight 5"
"Persona 5"
"New 2D Metroid"

Ok then, but how do you explain this. And that's not even getting into the number of remakes mentioned with fancy graphics because apparently nobody watched the Extra Credits video on Aesthetics.
Also it seems I'm the only one who understands that a franchise only becomes truly memorable when it ENDS. And presumably the best time for it to end would be before it gets to the point where it's become akin to milking a dead cow. Take Metroid for example, I think the best time to stop making Metroid games would've been after Metriod Prime 2. Actually the most ideal time would've been after Super Metroid, keeping it as a tight trilogy, even though I loved Metroid Prime.
Anyway, I'm done ranting now.
I already did explain that, lots of sequels are being mentioned because people have pre-existing excitement about previous entries. It's hard to have a lot of excitement over something that doesn't yet exist unless you have an exact idea what it is you would want, that would be somewhat of a different topic I think. It doesn't necessarily mean that people are averse to innovation, new ideas or new IPs. That's jumping to conclusions.

Also you you shouldn't say "it seems I'm the only one who understands..." engaging in hyperbole is never the way to go if your trying to make a point of your opinions, and you are never the only person that feels a certain way. Your idea of a franchise being memorable only when it's over is purely opinion, I can certainly see why you would feel that way I even agree to a point, but it's by no means a a universal truth of the industry.
First of all quote me correctly I didn't say it only becomes memorable, I said it only truly becomes memorable. It's like a really good vacation, sure you enjoy it while you're having it, but you can't really start looking back on it with fond memories until you come home, organize all the pictures, post them of Facebook etc. etc.
Also it seems I was not being clear, my main point of all that was that our beloved franchises that we love so much have to end at some point and if we truly loved them we'd understand that that point would before they reach the point of stagnation and corporate abuse! It was for this reason that I deliberately quoted you people's suggestions that would add a 4th or 5th entry to their respective series. No one else seems to get this which is why I used the words "I'm the only one who understands..." More than 2/3 of those series/franchises listed in this thread are those that DO NOT need another entry added.
We do not need another sequel to Chrono Trigger, we didn't even need the first one. That story was tight and self contained and could've stood on it's own. No sequel required. Yet they made one anyway and it was more like a spin off than a sequel. But now I'm ranting again.
See what happens when you get me going?

Phantasy Star going back to the original four games story and settings. Or even finishing the remakes and releasing them in the states would be good.

Fable 4, but make it as close to the original Fable/TLC with a new storyline and what not. Also, make it possible to have pimp babies with Reaver, regardless of gender.

Most of the games listed aren't pants-crapping tastic. It's shit that everyone know will come out eventually.

If someone made Star Control 3, I'd crap my pants on purpose. Then I'd go put on more pants and crap in those. Then I'd come after YOUR pants...

As a fan boy must say the FF7 remake. However the thought of the whole Blood Omen Legacy of Kain series would be welcome news.
