XCOM, of course.

I'm one of the few old Enemy Unknown veterans that is actually excited about it.
But it looks awful and nothing but a crude cash in on the name!?
There's three types of sequels. Those that have the setting of the original, those that have the story of the original and those that have the gameplay of the original. It's been years after the last XCOM game and making a complete remake or sequel wouldn't be as exciting. (Everything is being remade these days. Movies and games alike.)
The original X-Com proved that even with outdated graphics, gameplay is the key and hundreds of thousands still play it. (Thanks to Steam)

The new XCOM wouldn't be as enjoyable if we faced Sectoids, Floaters or Etherals AGAIN. If you've played the original, you know everything about them.
Enemy Unknown had this great mystery that really helped set the mood when facing a new enemy you haven't seen before.
The first time I saw a Chryssalid bite my soldiers, I shat my pants as they burst into new ones. It was all exciting and you had to think of what they did and what to use against them.

I'm sure XCOM will stay true to the original game. Basebuilding, research, story. It's all from the leaders perspective than a birds-eye. All the interviews with the developers has convinced me that they will do a good job on it.
The X-Com franchise is a huge thing for many players and if they fail to make it just as good as the original games, then everyone will outcast the company. They lose respect, fans and money.

(One thing I imagined when XCOM was first released, though, was sectoids mindcontrolling you. Twisting the world and making allies look like aliens. But you never know if there will be psychic powers in this game too.)
