I think Gordon Freeman is probably the most unrealistic character in gaming. Seriously as much as I love the whole half-life series how is this guy so invincble, just cos of an orange suit?! I doubt that it could stop hundreds of bullets and explosions while be comfy still.

Also if he is a real physicist surely he must have proved he knows the laws of physics by you know TALKING ABOUT THEM! or maybe he just has a nerdy voice i dunno.

what game characters do you find unbelievable?

EDIT- oops Wrong Discussion section...well never mind

Why don't you doubt the main characters of other war games, too? All they have are normal military fatigues.

The character I made in Fallout 3. He kills people and steals all their stuff, have enough money to retire and build his own kingdom, is the most evil bastard ever, but he still cares for and is trying to find his father rather than living the good life above everyone else.

Seriously, the most unbelievable would be Sonic, who just wants to save woodland creatures. And nothing else.

Sonic... a blue hedgehog that TALKS, and moves really fast...

and Tails to, actually, a FLYING Fox with 2 tails?

but, thinking about it, you know who's REALLY unbelieveable? Ron from Harry Potter...

A ginger kid with TWO friends?

Any and all space marines except for maybe master chief from halo 3 because he's not exactly buff the only thing real abnormal about him is that he can flip vehicles without touching them and can jump 10 ft.

Alot of game characters never have to use the toilet. Now that's unbelievable.

That, and the fact he is a blue hedgehog with lightining speed.

I go to the toilet but I never get the girl. It's an unfair world.

And yet Duke Nukem is not a complex character that stepped out of a Shakespeare tragedy

There's something called suspension of disbelief for a reason. When scrutinized, very few game characters make any sense at all.

Not ALL of them. The Sims, my dear friends, are the MOST believable.
I'd have to say that pretty much all of them with a couple of exceptions are quite unrealistic.

EDIT: Oh sorry, I read that as all.

I'm surprised that no game characters get dysentery after all the unclean water they drink in far off distant lands.

Seriously, would you want the game to be so hard that you'd go wriggling on the ground in pain with one bullet and no respawns?

It's a game, for flying cockadoocky sake! You're supposed to be the strongest guy on the planet.

But, I agree about the being mute part. Gordon has his own charm, but I really like voiced main characters more than mute ones.

Marcus Fenix. Nobody with that rough and tumble of a psyche would need a team. Its a facade.
