*busts out a large list of early and mid 90s favourites that sunk like the titanic after their first or second installments*

Cuz, like, I'm bored of rattling off the same old lists and you're probably tired of reading them :D

Let's just say there were a lot of cool titles with unique concepts out during this period and it'd help shake a little more diversity into the gaming ecosystem...

System Shock and System Shock 2.
Absolutely this.

I'd also love to see Syphon Filter come to modern systems with a shiny makeover. However, I think if they ever did that, they'd change so much that was great about the original, like the music, and voice acting.

Come on, Lucasarts! We're all waiting! Stop giving us crap, and (re)make the game that we REALLY want!
this guy.

Also intelligent systems, if you're gunna remake and release fire emblem games that were previously japan only, remake the best ones (Genealogy of the Holy war and Thracia 776).

The Original Fallouts would be nice, too.

Skitchin'.

Come on now. I know I'm not the only person who played this (since most of that playtime was on a neighbor's borrowed Genesis). Road Rash on rollerblades, grabbing onto the bumpers of cars to make combat more entertaining and to slingshot away when you see a ramp-shaped obstacle. Damn near every action you do short of turning the system on gives you cash to upgrade your stuff.

About the only thing that doesn't feel timeless is its obsession with early 90s Gen-X culture, going so far as to invent slang during the pre-race screens. Other than that, I can see Criterion working on this in two years time and not be surprised.

Baldur's Gate I and II. Great RPGs all around but getting so dated I've had technical problems running them on newer hardware/OSes. Anyone that likes RPGs should play these games. A remake makes that more likely.

I'm still waiting for Resident Evil 2 and 3 to get the RE 1 treatment *Grumble Grumble*
It's cool that they were put on the GC but those were straight-up ports, weren't they? What a waste of potential.

I'd like to see a remade Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire.

Arena/Daggerfall/Morrowind. Thief 1 and 2. Deus Ex. I'd love to see improved gameplay on the first two, but for the rest, everything else should just get some polish and be put on XBLA or PSN or Steam in HD.

I know some people might not like this, but Baldur's Gate. It's hard for a lot of us to get into RPGs like that or Planescape Torment. Myself included, and I really, really want to get through them.

Legend of Dragoon. It is the game that got me into RPGs. A remake would be pure JRPG goodness.
I second this to infinity. I loved the story of that one.

EDIT: also toe jam and earl FTW!

Damn Iwata you kind of ninja'd me. I was going to suggest Descent: Freespace, but, yea, that is equally a worthy remake.

EDIT: That was one of the best Christmas' ever when I opened one of my presents up and saw that box staring back at me.
I know, man! As a young teen, flying for Thrawn, becoming Vader's wingman, going up the ranks of the secret order... bliss! If they DO remake it, though, let's see more Rebel blasting and less Imperial VS Imperial shenanigans! I want to blow apart X-Wings, not other TIE Fighters, dammit!

Hell yeah, Baldurs Gate is tied (along with doom 2 and Monkey Island)as my most favorite game ever! I would love to see it remade.

Morrowind is also one I would love to see remade Along with Tie Fighter!

Wing commander. Yeah, a 21 year old game, definitely needs a remake. With graphics that need an actual graphics card to process, rather than what could feasibly be done on a sheet of corrugated card with a holepunch. Also, controls that aren't completely stupid.

And while they're at it, remake the film.

No kidding, I loved that plot twist but I was expecting to be fighting the Alliance, not half the Imperial Navy.

I agree with lots of people on this when I say MORROWIND. I played it on PC and it's great, the swampyish landscape and trees and stuff is really cool. I would totally pay for a revamped Morrowind, full retail, $70.

All I ask is:
Improved Graphics
Less glitches
Better attacking animations (the same slash motion get tedious after the first fight ¬.¬)

This may seem like a strange idea at first, but I'd go for Night Trap. With refined controls, a much improved story, actors who wouldn't cause the game to be featured on Unskippable, I think the game had potential to be awesome, and with today's technology it could happen.
