I just finished Dragon Age: Origins today after about 70 hours of playtime. Despite the amount of time I put into it, I'm not sure if I enjoyed it. I got my money's worth but I'm not sure if I was having fun. Weird.
I actually had a similar feeling, I sunk 80 hours into that game, finished it and yet the whole time I was playing it, I was never sure if I was actually having fun or not...It was definitely odd.
OT: Anyway, yeah, just finished KOTOR. Literally for the first time. Why yes, I am a little behind in the gaming scene.
My theory is that it had everything that should be fun and I typically love. However, it missed the mark on Everything.
Gameplay- another non-turn based RPG from BioWare. Fun! Not quite... too much of a micromanaging RTS
Setting- a fantasy Tolkienesque world filled with sorcerers, elfs, humans, and dwarves. Even, fucking dragons! Sweet! Umm... a little too gritty and made to be too realistic. Also, I slew only three dragons, and one was just a ***** pretending to be one! WTF! This was not the age of the dragon!
Story and Conversation- Tons of background. Love me some depth. Oh shit, shut up and get to the point already. Why are you still talking! This isn't even important. Oh god, Leliana! Why are you singing!!
I feel like they just did too much. Sometimes less is more. Do it well and keep it simple.
Also, I'm OCD when it comes to gear and if I had to look at one more Ashen Bow or compare armor that was potentially a smidge better than mine or my giant clans', I was going to cry.
