A toss-up between "Halo" (from all the hype) and "Deus Ex: Invisible War" (from my own expectations after the fantastic original game).

All of them, equally.

But mostly Fallout 3, or as it should be officially renamed:

Oblivion: The Fallout years.
OHHH comone Fallout and Masseffect were great games, at least they wern't as bad as Too Human, or should I say piece of shit. The game was soposed to be about a cybernetic super solder not Baldur lord of the Pussies.
I would agree Fallout 3 and Mass Effect are good games, but they do have some screaming flaws that can qualify as 'disappointments.' Fallout 3's similarities to Oblivion are so screamingly obvious that it could easily disappoint die-hard Fallout fans, including the 1st person action-based gameplay which is blatant contrast to 3rd person RPG turn-based play. As for Mass Effect the dialog options available were sometimes pretty weak and it suffers from CAD syndrome (Ctrl-Alt-Delete syndrome: when there's too much dialog that the writer felt was necessary when really its just poor writing) at some points. Another game that beats you over the head with the plot stick, but at least the plot is decently interesting. Gameplay in both is still very fun as well.

Remember, this is disappointments, where something doesn't live up to our expectations, and the more we anticipate something the more we usually are disappointed.

Fallout 3: Managed to complete this 'epic game' by just doing Moira's quests until I met dad, sure it took me awhile but the whole time I wandered in the world I couldn't shake the Oblivion feeling. I eventually got pissed when I managed to convince prez to boom himself in a single fucking sentence and ending. DICKS. That said, I was ok with the change to FPS rather than Fallout's usual 3rd rpg angle, pity it was based on Oblivion. I hope Beth studio realise that just making a Fanmod of Fallout 3 is not acceptable, they could have atleast changed the engine enough so it wasn't so glaringly fucking obvious that it was just Oblivion.

Mass Effect: Or as I like to think of it, boring. Boring. Boring. Boring. Boring. Boring. With a side of tits. If they'd cut out the stupid exploration bollocks I might have played it to the end, but I suffered my usual malady of BORED for the 30th time in the game I quit. And glad I was.

As a side note though, the stupid dicking around with who's in your fucking squad annoyed me more than the boring. No, I don't care about tech skills, because I'm just going to solve everything with violence.

Grandia III. I had never played the series before, but I picked up this game to rent because it looked good. I think I got an hour into the game before I had to stop, the bad graphics were giving me a headache and the plot was boring.

Far Cry 2 could of been so much better. Just another year in development could of really made it shine. But in this world of publishers thats never going to happen :(

To a certain extent,Psychonauts. It had some horrible design choices and a few voice actors were just terrible.I think Psychonauts was overhyped by people on these board that led me to some dissopointment. Overall the game wasn't bad though. Also Mass effect,I had faith in Bioware after Jade Empire, figured it would be as good or better than Jade Empire. It was a massive dispointment, sold it and pre ordered Tales of Versperia.

Spore, even more so that I felt compelled to get the freaking collector's edition. >.<

It was fun for about 40-50 hours, then it just got old.

Knights of the Old Republic 2 and Neverwinter Nights 2. I loved the originals in both series, and then the sequals came along. They were buggy, unfinished messes of games with plot holes you could drive a truck through. Interestingly enough, both originals were created by Bioware, and the sequals were both created by Obsidian. If franchise murder was a crime, Obsidian would get taken down on a double-homicide.

I should change my name to "Damnfable2" for all the ranting I do about it at the slightest provocation. Short, Claustrophobicly linear, and buggy as all hell. It's by far my poster child example of "DON'T EVER IMPULSE BUY GAMES!!"

So many come to mind, the rating system most sites use now is void because they rate games like GTA4 and MGS4 a 10/10 rating. This is to say a better game cannot be made. Not to mention GTA4 was a let down for me, I managed to drag myself though the story. After finishing it, never playing it again.

Games are getitng to much hype it seems. They spend as much on advertising as they do making the game, creating an inevitable dissapointment :( As for the biggest let down, I couldn't say.

Halo2, GTA4, Infinite undiscovery and Spore to name few.

Quite a few, but probably the most disappointment I've gotten from a game is when I purchased No More Heroes for the Wii.

Don't get me wrong, I really enjoyed the game, absolutely loved parts of it, but every review that I saw showed it as a really bloody, violent game, but when it was released here in Oz, all the blood was removed and replaced with black ash-like stuff.. it just wasn't the same and I was damn disappointed. ;(

Spore... don't get me wrong, the game is really fun, but after you get to the space stage it gets dull and repetitive. And the end is kind of a let down, for me at least...

Mass Effect, I don't mind it when a game has an interesting story, but it shouldn't let said story be the main thing, the idea of games is to have fun, not watch a boring movie in which you get to take part in some rubbish fight scenes now and then, I gave up when I got to the tank thing which you drive on the snow planet.
