I must Kisala's voice in Rogue Galaxy a lot. Also, the voices in Baten Kaitos. They're ridiculously annoying.

I've been playing too much Fallout 3. You said "muting" and I thought "is that what happens when you dip someone in FEV in Vault 87?"

On those rare occasions I play online, it's in challenge matches with people I know well, so muting the microphone never becomes a point of issue.

I had a nice conversation with ones mother once. Such an obedient kid. All I said was does your mother know you're playing and saying all those profanities? Can I talk to her? And I got one less asshole to play 17+ games. woot for me.
Sir. You are a legend.

Well that's what you get for playing on XBL. What did you expect? Chivalry and good manners?

There have only been a few games I've played online where people actually had some etiquette.

Jedi Outcast comes to mind...Bowing before every duel, people always said "GG or GF" after a battle...

Everything.
I occasionally give the lobby a chance, but then the 12 year-olds join. The cussing I can stand (to a degree), the insulting maybe, but the 12 year-olds who do both are what get to me. Then I mute every game for about 3 months. Then I'm dumb enough to give it another chance...

These are all PC mind you.

I had to mute Halo 3 when my 360 was still alive. It got to the point where the only people I played with were 10-year old racists and, trolls. Well, not 'racists' just kids who didn't quite know how to swear yet

Pretty much only ever muted people IN Counter Strike: Source but even then it wasn't very common for me to do so.

I mute Oblivion and Fallout 3 the most. The audio gets REALLY repetitive and is pretty unnessessary. Or I at least mute the "music" and play something of mine over it.

I have to mute people pretty much every game in modern warfare 2 because there's usually a retarded 12 year old boy making high pitched sounds or just general annoying sounds.

MW2: me and my friends race to see who can mute everyone first.

GOD FORBID WE USE XBOX LIVE PARTIES! Muting does the same job, IW. As always, nice planning.

When I still played shooters online:

Online Source games always had me mute everybody who talked. There's a simple reason why an integrated voice service is horrible.
A more personal reason would be that I like to hear the game sounds. Not the gunshots(well...) but the sound of someone landing on the floor behind me while I'm sniping, the sound of someone running six rooms from where I am, the sound of and delay between bullets anywhere on the map and those are only the obvious sounds.(for comparison, Windows sound volume is set to 10%, my headset is at roughly 40%, winamp is at 50% and it's still too loud in some cases so yes, I can hear what someone does on the other side of the map as long as the game doesn't have a limit)

Modern Warfare 2, so many morons on the Internet. Oh and just change your privacy settings if it's the only game you play online like me, what a stupid idea to force people into game chat. I wonder how they'll piss customers off next game.

The only online game I play is TF2, and it's been a while (I'm a sad person). But I usually play where mic-spamming is a bannable offense.

Halo has everyone permamuted at all times for me. Any time I start searching for a game, I immediately go into the options and mute everyone.

I usually do the same in MW2, unless I'm playing with my clan.
Same here. I can't stand listening to other people who think they are awesome.

Wooo, you teabagged me. Congrats. Social interaction at it's finest.

Modern Warface 2, the constant use of the N word. I'm African American so I take that into high offense. Oh yea, and the trash talk, I would like to see you punch me in the face because I waxed in a team deathmatch, oh wait, punches don't travel through mics now do they you idiot. smh.

Well, anyone using a mic in GFWL for me. Not because of the reasons you listed, but because the voice codex / code it uses is absolutely terrible. They're either far too quiet, or they're horribly distorted. I mute everyone. If I really get into a game or get on a team that needs the mic, we'll use Teamspeak or Ventrilo.
