Half-Life 2: Episode Three. People who claimed to like the previous Half-Life games don't deserve closure, and Valve doesn't deserve their money.
that's cute. do you by chance own a ps3?
I see what you're getting at: No, I'm not a Sony fanboy. I hate the Half-Life series out of genuine dislike through personal experience.
care to elaborate ?
Yes, please do elaborate.
On which point? All of them? Here goes:
Those who claim to like Half-Life and its sequels perpetuate the idea that they are games likely to be enjoyed by doing so. This causes multiple wrongs:
1) It increases the games' sales, thus rewarding Valve, thus encouraging Valve and other companies to make similar games instead of better games.
2) It encourages gamers and those who give gifts to gamers to waste money on Half-Life games - money that might otherwise have been used to acquire much better games.
3) It encourages gamers to acquire and play Half-Life games, most likely ending in unpleasant experiences for said players.
While I do not believe in eye-for-an-eye, I nevertheless wish these people harm on some 'lower' level.
When it comes to monetary exchange, my definition of 'deserving' is when the product or service is of high quality, and/or sold at a low price. The Valve company has never produced a product or service of high quality, or deviated significantly from standard retail prices. Inductive reasoning should tell you that Half-Life 2: Episode Three will not be a high-quality product.
I do not own a Playstation 3 system. I have never owned a Playstation 3 system. If any of my friends own Playstation 3 systems, they haven't told me. I do not recall ever using a Playstation 3, and if I ever did, it was the display model at a Best Buy or Target outlet, and did not remain in use by me for more than 30 minutes.
By "what you're getting at", I meant:
'Your primary gaming platform is Playstation 3, thus preventing you from playing any Valve game because Valve does not make Playstation 3 versions of their games. The only reason you are spiteful of Half-Life fans and Valve is because you are jealous.'
As always, correct me if I'm wrong.
My definition of "fanboy" is thus:
"One who supports a company, brand, or product with extreme and especially irrational devotion."
I am not extremely or irrationally devoted to any company, brand or product, and especially not Sony.
I hate the Half-Life games because every time I play one I become bored, frustrated, or both - sometimes simultaneously - as a result. I consider none of the design decisions in the Half-Life series good ideas, with the possible exception of the Gravity Gun concept. I believe an unpleasant playing experience to be inevitable with Half-Life due to its design, and not a result of my own moods or preferences.
