Left 4 dead 2, LEFT 4 DEAD BOYCOTT FTW, it has like 41,000 members now, lol, huge chunk out of the cheap ass left 4 deads designers salary, they were even thinking of realesing one every year!
pull yourselfs together. they are already making a new campaign for the original. it is short, but thats because they have made it mainly for versus.
that is not much, half a real campaign map, and not continuall support, also it took them a very little effort to make it. Go look at the official boycott groups arguements
First, point me at the article which states in direct quotes that the L4D dev team (Or whatever team Valve assigned to future L4D's) wanted to release a new L4D every year. I simply cannot believe anybody would ever, ever,
EVER make that claim.
Second, it takes a lot of work to create a game. Especially a game with modern graphics. So don't tell me they ain't putting effort into their projects.
Third, it takes a lot of work to simply create a map. You may not think about it (Because you clearly don't care about how much work things like this take), but each and every new map probably has new scenery (Which means a new set of graphics to create and get working just right), a new set of balances (Ever wonder why neither side has a true advantage in the overall campaign? Because lots of time and effort goes into making sure of it.), not to mention an entirely new "plot" for this campaign ("plot" being the actions needed to survive). You go out and make a new one of those, complete campaign style with versus balance, every few weeks as everybody wants. Do that and I'll gladly give you every dollar I ever make (After taxes, ofc).
And, as I'm sure all you boycotters like to leave out, did not the Valve team specifically mention backwards compatibility of some sort? Not to mention the fact that L4D2 is NOT (You heard me, NOT) just a clone of L4D with better graphics. New AI director, changing maps, new specials (I believe), new weapons, new characters. The list goes on. And yet all you worry about is some sort of mass abandoning of the L4D servers. Which is simply not going to happen. I say we create an ANTI-Boycott to tell the world what you all fail to mention.
Anyways, on topic: Not to hate on Halo, but didn't the Halo story end after the third one? IMO a story which is already stretched due to popularity can only get worse over time (Heroes, Lost, etc.). So I have to say that anymore Halo games starring the Master Chief are probably going to falter as far as story goes, and to my knowledge the Halos are all generally alike when it comes to multiplayer (With 2 and 3 being almost exact duplicates of eachother).
