All the tired old franchises are, well...tired and old. The key to thier sucsess was thier simplicity, because the NES, Genesis etc obviously couldn't handle big 3D worlds. Now that we all need gritty realism and emotional drama, stories of a italian plumber curb stomping murshroom people dont cut it anymore. Zelda could still make a decent game if they really tried because it's a fanasy world with enough established lore to make an interesting story, when i played Twilight Princess on the GC (cause im not buying a Wii...ever) the combat was fun even if the wolf sections were a bit on the lame side. Sonic can't keep up with the times anymore (no pun intended) and his devs are just stapling gimmicks on like they're going out of fasion...cause they are. Dark sides of characters have all been done before (Shadow the Hedgehog, Dark Samus, Shadow Link, Shadow Mario, Akuma, Liquid Snake, Dark Prince, Lara Croft's Doppleganger, Castlevania Doppleganger, blah blah blah) and aren't so "cool" anymore. The one chance Sonic has is if they kept the running stages and ditched EVERYTHING ELSE. But they never will, ever. If Metal Gear keeps chruning out these MEANWHILE!!! games I'll be pretty annoyed. Unfortunatly the idead bin is pretty much empty, so sequels are the only way to go, the rule of 3 wont mean anything anymore...
New Gex title would be pretty cool. Ape Escape was fun as hell too. KoTOR might be nice... FUR F*CKING FIGHTERS!!!
