Playing Blazblue with my friends and regular peeps that are of equal skill level. Fighting games can be the most hype shit ever when you got two roughly equally matched players going at each other. Shit gets down to the wire, and you can cut the tension with a knife in some of those fights.

My Hakumen brings out the "no bullshit" in people, they gotta fight with every ounce to take me down. And the same goes when I fight my friends who play Hazama, Bang, Litchi, Valkenhyne and Relius. I can't fuck around with them when we put on our serious hats.

When a single last hit will determine who wins, there is no other gaming experience that brings out the amount of hype I feel. Though when it comes to Lambda and Noel players, I just want that crap to be over with, because screw those scrubby ass characters.

Nothing gets my blood pumping more than Devil May Cry 3 on hard mode. Battles are intense, frantic and they definitely make you earn it.

STALKER, in a horror way. There's very little in gaming more terrifying than waiting out an emission in a warehouse around Jupiter that may or may not be infested with blind dogs.

Mass Effect 2 and 3 in a FUCK YEAH way. The suicide mission in 2...god damn, man. Blowing the christ out of the Collector ship was awesome. The scene on Rannoch with Tali in 3 (assuming you romanced her) was awesome, too. As was the entire final assault on Earth.

I'll never forget talking to my team that one last time before making the last push to Harbinger. I had Two Steps From Hell playing in my head the whole time as Shep broed out with Garrus, looking over the assembled Krogan platoon, just...everything.

Oh, and the renegade interrupt following the Kai Leng fight. No spoilers, if you did it, you remember it.

Uncharted 2&3: Full of 'holy shit WTF this is bananas' moments
Silent Hill 2: When this came out I couldn't even play it, I just watched my brother play. Still the scariest game ever made.
Any multiplayer shooter other than TF2.

Dark Souls and its broken addicting pvp, especially the new deathmatch.
Devil May Cry 1 and 3, MvC2 (any fighting game really), and Persona 3/4.

Hell yeah.

"The Hype is what gives a player his power. It is an energy field created by all players. It surrounds us and penetrates us. It binds the scene together." - Obi Wan/Seth Killian

Pretty much any competitive game will get the adrenaline going, but fighting games especially bring the heat. Fighting games are characteristically fast-paced, strategies change quickly and often, pressure can be absolutely unrelenting, and a single mistake, or a single good read can, and typically will, change the course of a match. Players find themselves in a psychological battle for momentum, and there's nothing is more stressful or exhausting than a game of mind-hacking.

There are a few.

BioShock is truly one where the environment and atmosphere really help set the tone for gameplay. I can hear Splicers conversing in the distance as I prepare to line my shots and take out one or two at a time, before they notice me, as well as feeling the loud, thumping sound of the Big Daddy's patroling the halls and looking for a Little Sister, as I set up my traps to take him down when he does. All this in a crumbling, flooding, underwater city with soothing, mellow, or catchy 40s and 50s music playing in the background.

The Uncharted series also get the adrenaline going with shootouts, stealth takedowns, giant vehicles and structures crumbling down as you manage to get away. The multiplayer is also great, as you get to learn about the environment and weapon drops to best your human competitors.

The Disgaea series can also be nerve clinching, especially when face with a powerful boss that can cheaply diminish half of your units with a single attack. It's very satisfying when you come up with a great strategy and formation to effortlessly conquer an area, as well as being down to your last unit and claiming a nail-biting victory.

Unreal Tournament 2004. The sheer amount of smoke, shrapnel and acrobatics is nearly too much to wrap one's head around.

A LAN game of Age of empires 2 as long as there is more then 4 people. the amount of backstabbing and secret deals that goes on in that game is just insane. one of my most memorable games had a moment that went something like this:
it's an 8 player game. Me, let's call me P1, P2 and P3 is in an alliance against P4, P5 and P6
but I have a deal with P4 and P5 to betray my allys and we are going to kill P2 in a surprise attack.
But, I have already worn P2 and P3 of this plan and we have made ready for a counter attack where we will lure P7 and P8 to P4s and P5s bases will we while fight P4s and P5s army.
It was pretty intense is what i'm getting ad.

Any rts games i suck at them, all of them, but when a fight breaks out my adrenalin just pumps like crazy
I'll have to agree with you there. I was thinking that I stay calm and collected in most games I play, but then I thought of RTSs. Games where I'm relying on the competence of others (i.e. little units who aim and shoot on their own) directed by my own manipulation are much more exciting. I know that whether or not I succeed in the more heated battles comes down to whether or not I prepared and orchestrated everything correctly. If it comes down to the wire, I'll really perk up and sweat bullets. The outcome is an unknown.

Sure, I can heft the gun myself in an FPS. But when I'm in direct control, I know precisely what I'm capable of. As far as risks go, it gets kind of boring after a while.

This is about as expected as The Wykydtron saying "Persona 4" XD but yeah Dark Souls. That's why I fell in love, I almost forgot what it was like to fear what was around the next corner, and for bosses to be a truly powerful bringer of pain that will smash you like a bug if you divert any attention from "not dying".

Another one is certainly Rez with the bass up on a good sound system, lights off, and 3 controllers as trance vibrators. That shit is sublime. I will never get tired of that game, and I can recall all the enemy patterns in my sleep.

Battlefield 3 big time. Almost any game I play with my legs up, all relaxed. Battlefield just gets me in the moment. I don't notice im seriously into it until the match ends and I realize I've been staring intensely at the monitor.
This. So much this.

Trying to cap a point when an enemy tank is prowling about and there's no one else there, listening to it go back and forth and roam about looking for you, shooting off shells and occasionally causing the only cover you have to shatter into tiny pieces as you lie prone on the ground, praying it won't see you or that something will finally destroy it... it's almost more frightening and heart-pounding of an experience than many horror games.

I recently got a computer powerful enough to play Amnesia the Dark Descent. That is seriously one of the most terrifying games I've ever played. Two things stand out for me:

First off, that goddamn grinding noise made when you're low on sanity: I have these nice headphones, and I kept on trying to turn away from it only to realise something: That was me. Grinding my teeth in terror.

Second off, a bit in a flooded hallway. You're walking through it where something attacks you. You can't see it, you can only hear it and see the footprints it makes on the water. Freaking terrifying.

The Halo games, especially multiplayer.

I am a sore loser in video games, and I mean really soar, so trying to play CTF or other objective games with a team of 8 when it's just me and my mates (usually one or two) trying to go for the objective instead of kills, I can get quite angry.

But then getting the flag or planting the bomb and trying to get away with it is just awesome.

Darksouls, Vanquish, beating a highscore on an arcade game.

For me personally the most adrenaline fueled gaming sessions i've had were shmups and playing for highscore or the 1 credited completion. Bullet hells like Dodonpachi are some of my most memorable, where the game requires you to be very steady with the d-pad or stick but because i'm fighting the last boss my last life my hands on are actually shaking due to the adrenaline so I start making mistakes.

And when I finally do beat that last boss and beat the game it's like ten birthdays come all at once.
