What game has a more dedicated fanbase than portal

Counter-Strike. I recall reading a news article a while back about a child who murdered his mother because she turned off the internet. Also, placing the bomb at B is apparantly the equivalent of being Jeffrey Dahmer. Strange.

Warhammer 40k. Not just the compy rts (Both of them), but the tabletop game as well. And while I don't really consider myself a diehard fan of the series, there are certainly plenty of people in said fanbase.

Almost anything by Valve has a dedicated fanbase.

In my opinion, World Of Warcraft or Team Fortress 2.

I wouldn't include Halo because it seems like for every Halo fanboy, there is an equal and opposite Halo hater...they tend to cancel out.

I don't think WoW's fanbase is as dedicated as their numbers would suggest. Half the people playing that game either complain or just say that its just something that they do to kill time because they are in college/their life is boring/they like the lore/etc. Even so, half of WoW's player base is still a pretty large amount of people.

Starcraft, Halo, WoW and some of the Mario fanboys can all be more dedicated than those who enjoy Portal.

Two weeks ago, I would've said Halo or COD. But now everyone is on a Halo and COD hate-fest, so... Nothing really. I've never heard anything bad about Portal. Ever. Of course, I think it deserves the praise.

More dedicated than portal?. Almost every fan base i can imagine. For dedicated i asume that is a fanbase that distributes, creates and sugest content for the game. Comunicates with the companie and ask for nerf every clas... meh, back to portal i think since it was realesed it stayed pretty static, maybe i'm miss informed.
I think even illusion fan base is more dedicate than portal one. Other dedicated comunities are WoW, lots of forums, wikias, makers addons, fan fictions, video blogs, noobs who ask for nerf arghhh... etc. etc.

I don't think that Portal has a "dedicated fanbase". Everyone kind of agrees that Portal was a great game, and you kind of need people saying that something is bad for it to get the cohesion of a "fanbase" like MW2 or WoW.
