What game has the best soundtrack ever?

There has been some damn good music from video games over the years. What games does it best? Is it Chrono Cross? Ocarina of Time? Cave Story? Super Smash Brothers Brawl? Or... Is it something else?

Tell me what you think below. Also, please don't just nominate a game for a single song. As awesome as Stickerbrush Symphony is, Dk Country doesn't have the weight on all fronts to beat out the games outlined above.

My heart says Warsong / Langrisser, Streets of Rage 2 or Dodonpachi Diafukatsu Black Label but my head says FFVII so many great melodic songs in one game and bit tune rather than redbook audio to boot.

Both Persona 4 and BlazBlue CSEX are my top picks. BlazBlue has absolutely beast character themes and Persona 4 has great soundtracks from dungeons to comedy scenes to just walking around town to whateverthefuck.

Makoto and Hazama are my joint second favourite themes. Makoto's is just fun and bouncy while Hazama's one is evil, demented and light-hearted at the same time. I could seriously see Hazama hunched over a piano plinking at random notes. The song is that good.

Every song in Persona 4 is gold. Reach Out to the Truth did the impossible and made the battle song have vocals and NOT get infinitely annoying after a couple of battles.

Ok and I LOVE Aigis' theme in P4A. Literally the only thing that kept me going with her for a while. I WILL get decent with her eventually dammit.


They're mostly variations of P4/3 soundtracks basically so they don't get quite as much rep. Shabrys has a good one though.

Dammit wykydtron , stop being wrong . Everyone knows that the best videogame soundtracks come from Persona 3 and Guilty Gear (all of them) . I'll give you an E for effort for almost getting it right though.

I loved the Mass Effect 2 soundtrack, which really does say a lot considering it's one of the only games where I've been right in the middle of the action and just been thinking "the music is kickass!"
