Exp and levelling up would be pretty cool to have (honestly, hit by a car? pah! I'm level 99!) it would also mean that going into old age would be viewed as a good thing (if you've got that much exp...you MUST kick ass!).

Regenerating health (taken from Halo 2 onwards, Gears of War and many others) would be another handy ability. It could save lives (honestly!), imagine if someone has been mugged in the street and say that someone stabbed/cut them with a knife, in reality they would bleed out or die from their wounds, with regen they would be fine (if a bit shaken up) after a few minutes.

No, see, you wouldn't notice everyone ELSE quicksaving and quickloading, just your own. However, the one problem with this is that some people would have diametrically opposed goals. They would quickload forever, until one of them realised that it was futile.

It's a great argument for respawns instead of quickloading.

Personally I would like the employment chances of a Sim, pick the job you want from computer or newspaper and automatically get it? that'd save a lot of stress. Plus the ability to get thin and fit in about half a day, or instantly if you know a friendly witch.

Console cheats and save/reload would be incredibly awesome to have personally, but both of them would cause significant fundamental changes to society if they were available to everyone.
Save/Reload - All conflicts and competitions are resolved by who has the patience to reload more often, millions of people become unemployed as their professions become obsolete. On the plus side, crime rates would go way down because people could do whatever they want and then just reload.
Cheat codes - Society collapses to the level of five-year-olds playing with LEGOs "My spaceship has a superlaser! Oh yeah, well my ship has a mega-shield! My superlaser can go through shields! My mega-shields can stop things that go through regular shields" etc.

Infinite carrying capacity would be really nice, but it would increase shoplifting and unemploy a lot of people that work in warehouses. It does have hidden environmental benefits, as the cost of transportation goes way down.

My pick goes to tool-tips. Imagine having instant advice on every object and action. This one also has the added advantage of being realistically feasible, all you would need is a really big database and glasses/contacts with a computer screen and a sensor to tell what you're looking at and intending to do.

lol i'm loving the New Game +, that would rock!

Also background music and Dynamic Sounds so you know when someone is sneaking up behind you and stuff.
Also if you ever buy something new or get given a present or whatever you can hold the item up in the air and it plays the new item song from Zelda.

How about the health system of many shoot-em-ups these days? You get shot multiple times, you hide behind a barrel or door, wait a few seconds, and are ready to be shot at all over again.

I'm sure that the armed forces would appreciate this...

Okami like drawing mechanics xD it would be awesome making bridges everywhere and bombs! Of course this would need to be coupled with quicksave/quickload ;P also a point based skill system with things like charisma, running, etc

And for kicks a customization option at our birth xD

NPC's, I'd be very happy to have many people talk to me only after i've spoken to them. I'd like to be given great objects for basically nothing and I'd like to hold off on events forever like finals. They won't start until I speak the professor right?

Not a game mechanic per se, but what about a search function?

There are times where my life would be so much easier if I had that. For example, finding my socks in the morning...
You know it's actually gotten to the point that if i really want to find something, my brain sometimes sorta initiates a "Ctrl+f". It's hard to describe the sensation but it's like it starts down that path before it realises that i'm in REAL LIFE. I also sometimes try for an undo when i fuck up writing with a pen.

Think of the fun you could have with ragdol physics, especially combined with lowered gravity, honestly!
eg 1) Smack someone, watch them bend over backwards
2) Get hit by a car and cartwheel through the air for a couple hundred yards before flipping like a rabid fish out of water!

to name but a few!

Two Words: Respawn Points.

It'd make murder a minor inconvenience, not to mention make war a lot more enjoyable. Just imagine, a soldier goes down in combat, only to reappear a minute later in a helicopter raining down hell on the enemy.

Oh, and Achievements would be fun, if only to see how many random ones you could accumulate.
