Final Fantas.... No, wait.
Prince of Pers.... No, wait.
Mario Brot..... No, wait.
Tomb Rai.... No, wait.
Max Payn.... No, wait.
Wing Comman..... No, wait.
Mortal Komb.... No, wait.
Hitma..... No, wait.

Um, God of War? I could see this as a summer blockbuster. Clash of the Titans, only, you know, good.
Thumbs up on this list!

I think there are a lot of games that have some interesting story elements that could be great movie moments, but a lot of the gameplay aspects don't translate well to films. I think the next Star Wars movies should just be KOTOR 1&2 in film form. Maybe trim some of the side quests and such, but the general ideas and main plot of both games are awesome for movies.

If the resultant movie was somehow now restrained to the 2Hour average standard, Metal Gear and Ni No Kuni would be great.

Ni No Kuni would be an animated ghibli film of course.

Well I could see Ratchet and Clank working well, so let's see how that movie does when it comes out in 2015. There is also speculations of a Sonic the Hedgehog movie being made, well another one since the first movie was the awesome OVA with Hyper Metal Sonic. ^.^

Metroid could work, though they would need to make it so that it wouldn't remind people too much of the Alien franchise.
They'd also need to have it so that it doesn't remind Metroid fans of...Other M...XD
Other M? Never heard of it. (wink wink)

I would actually like a completely zero spoken dialogue film for Metroid. That would fit the feel of the games much better.
Speaking of Metroid, I think one way to make a successful film out of that franchise would be to make Joss Whedon director and screenwriter of the film.

Mr. Whedon already is known for making great action girl characters, so if anyone can have Samus Aran portrayed in a respectful matter, it's him. Plus, he'd be smart enough to adapt the franchise in a way that properly respects the source material and would likely actually play the games so that he'd understand what he's got to work with.

Unless directors start being faithful to the games, it's fucking pointless! I mean where the fuck are the valkyries in the Max Payne games? (not that I've played them all) and I'm pretty sure that the hit many games don't have the girl with the dragon tattoo in them.

I would say an mgs game but each viewer would need a fucking guide book.

Assassin's Creed could be good, just take out one mission string and make a movie from it. You know how the missions boil down gather Intel, pick target, set up assassination, assassinate? Make that the movie basically what hit and should have been.

I dont understand why people feel games should be made into movies as a game is a more interactive form of storytelling then a movie and in my opinion more enjoyable.
Considering the amount of bad adaptions out there all ready id bet the film industry wont try any big budget gaming movies apart from the most popular franchises like Halo and Mass Effect.
In saying that thou i feel that Halo could become a successful movie considering the huge universe that has been created for a film to explore. A film could leave master chief out entirely and concentrate on other characters or Spartans and their missions in the sae timline as the Master chief.

The Last of Us is trying so hard to be a movie that it's gameplay suffers. So let them be something they want to be, rather than slapping it in a game box. The story's good, the slog to get to it is tedious.

Team Fortress would be the greatest thing ever but that will never happen.
How about Fallout? The game has a good lore and could make a good movie.

Bioshock could make an awesome TV show. Imagine it, it could flip between Rapture's establishment/prime (kind of a steampunk/period piece thing) and a group of survivors trying to escape Rapture once it's decayed.

Fallout could also be a pretty cool TV show, something along the vein of a sci-fi western. You know, the thrill of the unexplored, the tough frontier life, that sort of stuff. Some "chosen one" stuff to reinforce the power of the individual. Could be cool. Come to think of it, this sounds like Firefly without the spaceships...

God Of War could make a pretty decent Clash Of The Titans style action-fest.

And give The Last Of Us its movie. It's not that I disliked the game or anything. It's just that the solid, pefectly functional gameplay didn't really reinforce too much of the thematic content of a rather excellent story, so I feel like a movie wouldn't lose too much.

Starfox would be neat to see, though I doubt the movie makers would be eager to mesh it's cartoonish art style with space opera themes.

Mass Effect would work nice, all the elements of a great space opera are there.

I'd agree with this, Bioshock could make a pretty cool movie, even Infinite would work well as a movie.

I think Assassins creed would make an epic film franchise. Thankfully it's being made, hopefully it doesn't suck.

The Last of Us could make for a really awesome movie, IF they get away from the Joel and Ellie story and tell the story of another character in the same world; say for example Ish?

Uncharted, this game is basically a movie it even follow the movie script rules where at minute 60 something awesome happens, and yes the general rule of minute 60 aka page 60 in a movie script is that something awesome (big fight scene, a chase sequence, monster reveal, best comedic scene, etc.) happens, and if you play Uncharted without dying or getting stuck, exactly at minute 60 you get the train level in Uncharted 2, which many would argue is the best in the series.

Tomb Raider, say what you will about the past movies but Tomb Raider has a good chance of being a great summer blockbuster if done right.

The Walking Dead, I don't know if this is considered a comic book, game, or TV series but whatever it is it could work well as a movie

Mostly agreed with Trek1701a on the subject, but would still like to see a Castlevania film done well, possibly using the plot of the third NES game where three of the four heroes (plus Alucard's mother) are rejected by the superstitious peasantfolk for being different but save the world anyway.

With my biased opinion, Starcraft. That lore is just so awesome imo. Could work better as a TV series maybe, who knows.

Dragon Age: Origins in particular really felt like a movie.
It has a simple story with some potentially nice twists. Some great lore and races that have a bit of a spin on typical fantasy tropes. The characters have excellent personalities and offer great comedic banter.

In general though, I don't consider movies to be a good medium for video games. Given all the side quests and action heavy sequences it seems like the ideal avenue would almost always be a T.V. series. Growing up I frequently envisioned Final Fantasy 2 & 3 for SNES being turned into an animated t.v show. Each game would comprise a season of storytelling.

FF3 (a.k.a 6) for example:
Episode 1 could cover Terra's escape from capture, meeting Locke and fleeing from Narshe.
Episode 2 would end with Figaro castle submerging into the sands with our hero's fleeing into the caves.
