What I mean is that game series that were amazing when they came out but now they just aren't doing as well as they should be or have the potential to be.
Or something like that. I'm bad at explaining things sorry

I usually judge an 'aged game' as one that used to look terrific, but looks horrible now.

Prince of Persia (The entire Sands of Time trilogy) looks pretty bad nowadays.
Star Ocean: Till The End Of Time. Holy hell has it aged. It looks quite bad now despite me thinking it looked brilliant when it came out.

Probably the Call of Duty series, if Modern Warfare 1 and 2 are considered to be part of it then people have already grown sick and tired of it. Honestly, will people really care about a new one coming out?

Probably Halo as well, although I'm hoping Reach will be a good swansong to the Halo series.

hmm.. Sonic the Hedgehog, for one. Tho I guess it was kinda destined to rot away, given enough time. I mean, when it came out, it was FAST! Wheeeee...! That doesn't mean so much anymore. Building up a whole cast of extras and trying to shoehorn a plot into it certainly didn't help, either.

Speaking of Sega, there's Shining Force and Phantasy Star. They turned 'em into (bad) action-RPGs, whereas the "old school" games were really pretty solid for their time.

Mega Man got easier and flashier, and again loaded up with bullshit unnecessary "plot". Until 9, that is. Looks like they're gonna be sticking with the retro-feel for 10 as well, so I'm stoked.

Mario? the games aren't particularly bad, but they could have at least changed SOMETHING at some point in the last billion games.

Also guitar hero, they release a new game every other day and dont add much.

and finally need for speed, from most wanted, their games went downhill (although i hear shift is pretty good)
I can't stand how childish the character has become since Mario 64.

Ever since they decided to give Mario a voice they turned him into a Pokemon only capable of saying his name with a very stereotypical Italian accent and making silly baby talk noises.

Pretty much this... and Zelda, and FF, and... well most series that have been around 10+ years

LOZ: Orcania of time and majora's mask. I remember those looking absolutely amazing when I was 6, although the games are still fun, Link looks like he's made out of cardboard boxes.
More recently, Twilight princess isn't aging very well, and pretty much every final fantasy game since the invention of 3d.

Morrowind. I can't even play it anymore since oblivion. Also, I'm probably going to get a lot of flak for this, but the whole FPS genre prior to the Xbox/PS2/Gamecube generation.
Edit: oh shit, missed the word "Series" in the topic. Gonna have to say Donkey kong. What the fuck happened?

Predator: Concrete Jungle.

It was a game I utterly adored, despite people's general hatred towards it. I used to think it looked utterly fantastic but I fired it up two days ago for old time's sake and DEAR GOD is it painful to look at.

I mean, physically painful, the textures genuinely make my eyes hurt.
That game as not aged well at all.

I'd say any series that has been around for more than 10 years. Things just get bland if the designers are restricted to the things that make the series famous. But when they try to be innovative, the fans riot. C&C4 is an example of that imo.
Well, Mario comes to mind, as does Zelda, Sonic, and C&C.

The CD-i Mario spoke with a Brooklyn accent. Plus he actually spoke fairly regularly in the numerous edutainment games.

Although, hilariously, they were terrible to begin with.

Anything now, and he just comes off as having some sort of bizarre mental disorder.

Ridge Racer series. For arcade racing, I turn to Fatal Intertia. Driving games are turning into driving simulators, that's where the demand is, and ridge racer doesn't fit in.
