The Witcher 1, I remember seeing the trailer for it when i was 13 thinking how awesome it looked, and how sad I was i didn't have a PC to play it.
Just recently picked it up and beat it, and boy was it great imo, the ending and the game as a whole was much better than I expected.

Last Half of Darkness: Society of the Serpent Moon. It was the best adventure game of the year, clever puzzles, pretty spooky considering horror doesn't scare me at all, and it was lengthy.

The Binding of Isaac. Heard zero hype for this game despite the fact it was being made by one of the Meat Boy guys. Looked weird but heard it was good, only $5 on steam, so I tried it out and whoa. Zelda and Robotron with Meat Boy's "cute gross" artstyle makes for wonderful offspring. This is the best five dollar game I've ever played by a significant margin. Tons of replayability, everything is different everytime you play (random rooms/enemies/bosses/items), unlock more levels/items/chars the more you beat it, good challenge, awesome.
