Maybe it could work out as well as those.... well except for firefly, talk about a short lived series. But it could be possible!
Well you have a unique crew, an awesome ship and a lot of missions that could be turned into episodes. It would be a shame not to allow the watchers to get to know them deeply over a few seasons.

Max Payne ....

No seriously X-Com or Deus Ex. Freedom fighters (Red dawn is pants) would be neat as would STALKER (Stalkers a bit metaphysical and lacks guns & mutants & anaomalies :D).
As much as I'd LOVE a specifically X-Com movie, I think it's already been done... like...a million times.

Still, football rockets ftw.

Considering they're pretty much movies already, the Uncharted series. They could add absoloutely nothing original and flat-out copy the games, and the movies would still end up being pretty awesome.
they could but they never would....there are so many movies based on games that would be soooooo good if they had just copyed the game

I'm going retro and saying Goldeneye. I know, it's definitely old as hell, but that game was so cool when I was six, I bet it would make a kickass movie, almost like a Daniel Craig flick with British and Russian accents.

Or left 4 dead (Fits like a glove if you put Michael Bay as director)

No way uh uh uh uh uh....it could make a good movie

but with bay as a director?

at least transformers gave him a reason to knock down buildings and blow shit up (even though he failed that)

But L4D????

that bit where you can shoot the gas station would prrrrobably be reapedted over and over and over...

i think Danny Boyle could handle that film......its baisicly 28 Days later but with more aggresive characters

I think you just got troll'd.

But I could be wrong, as I've never seen the Goldeneye movie, and thus, cannot attest 100% to it's existence.

They should just screw it and make Left 4 Dead movies... maybe recycle the plot when every campaign was connected.

Hmm, no need to mention Postal, as it already got an awesome movie...Also liked the first Mortal Kombat flick... Games I'd like to see made into movies... We'll assume they're all being "done right"

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
No More Heroes (would make a fun black comedy, methinks)
Army of Two
Lost Odyssey
Tatsunoko vs Capcom
Dissidia: Final Fantasy
Onimusha
(obligatory) Final Fantasy VII
Metroid
Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers (I want another movie like the first one, sans crappy CG Megazord)
Star Fox

Most of them don't have to be all deep and compelling, just really fun to watch, ya know?

Why Michael Bay would be a "seemingly perfect" director for l4d is that the plotline is small, so he wouldn't get too confused. And in all honesty, the most action that happens in left 4 dead is if a tank comes, a big zombie horde comes or the gas station goes boom.

That's mostly his field, all of the above. He can only direct action : /

But Danny Boyle could also be a good director, since left 4 dead is mostly based of 28 days later (which the makers of the game even says in the credits). It's basicly 88% his ball.

I would like to see a movie rendition of either GUN or Call of Juarez but either as CG or drawn animation, at least that way the characters will look the same as the game and the same voice actors can be used.

Myst.

(Everyone who keeps suggesting RPGs needs to consider the time investments involved.)

Oooooh, I'd love to see an animated Earthbound movie, done by Hayao Miyazaki (a la Howl's Moving Castle, Kiki's Delivery Service, etc).

I'd like to see Tim Schafer (Psychonauts, Grim Fandango, Brütal Legend) make a movie. His games have awesome writing, but mediocre gameplay. A movie would be perfect.
For most games though, I'd rather play them than watch them.
