Does an remake have to be the same as the original. I think not. they should remake FF7 and add in new areas to explore. twist the story up a little. show the life of some of the other characters with a different perspective. new bosses. sure amazing graphics would be a plus. but there are other things they could do to great game to make it better.
Enough of that though. Anyone remember "the Legend of Dragoon" they should totally remake that RPG. I think it was made by square Enix. It came out on the playstation 1 im pretty sure around the same time as final fantasy 7 actually. that game was so great i beat it like ten time so i could have a different team with different moves everytime. please let there be a remake.

I'd love to see ONI in a proper remade version. (Proper meaning, better graphics (specially for the surroundings), change small parts of the story to make it a bit more driving and most of all and multiplayer mode.)

Oni was one of those games that showed that beat em up
a) hadn't to be on consoles, and
b) were WAY better with an open, real 3D area to fight in, instead of having your characters move forth and back only (maybe with a little cycling around each other but that doesn't count for me)

Morrowind, but with current-gen graphics (maybe a bit less bloom) and the Oblivion combat/skill system (though I'd still like to see Spears etc. back in the game as well).
It'd be better if they just made another game. But yeah, I get where you're coming from. I'd be more willing to play Morrowind if the combat system wasn't arse.
I'm just hoping that the next game will be set in Valenwood. I love Wood Elves.
Besides, just imagine just walking through a forest, then being ambushed by a few archers from the trees.

Anyhoo, I agree with a FF7 remake as well. But for the PSP :p

Legend of Dragoon was made by Sony. I think it was just Sony Computer Entertainment Japan. Thay may have had another first party developer as well. It was not squaresoft though. That's what makes it so remarkable. To the unsuspecting, it looks exactly like a great squaresoft rpg.
I don't think it needs a remake though. It's a great game as it is. It's one of the best looking psx games, and the gameplay was fantastic. If you want to see the graphics smoothed out a bit, get a ps3 or run it on an emulator. There are a lot of games that have certain issues or limitation that need remakes badly, but Legend of Dragoon was perfect.
That being said, the good news is that if an LoD sequal/remake/reimagination was in the works, it wouldn't slow down the production of Sqeenix games since Sony made it without their help.

I would love a system shock 2 remake (ideally, a version on Valve2 would be perfect), or just a patch that allows me to run it without crashes on my Quad Core Monolith. I don't even mind the original graphics. I just mind the game's frequent crashing on my machine. Nothing made after 2002 crashes, but older stuff just hates my machine.

I would love to see an FF7 with new tweaks, and dialogue fixes, I don't know how Squeenix would handle it though. Lately, they haven't been producing the same level of quality, and I just don't think it'd be possible to please the FF7 fanbase. They'd build it up in their own heads more than John Romero built up Daikatana.

Brenflood, I have to admit one thing. Legend of Dragoon is probably the best RPG's in my mind. The in-game graphics were nice when it came out, but not so much now. The cut scenes were amazing though. Still are today. Additions worked beautifully. Meru was awesome. Hell, I even went back and beat that game about three months ago. I think it definitely needs a graphical update but it's still perfect in my eyes, no matter how terrible it looks today.

On a side note, I think Morrowind shouldn't be remade. I just want the next one to come soon enough, especially if it is located in High Rock, home of the Bretons. After 500+ hours in Oblivion, I think we need a new one.

I'd have to agree with having Oni redone. It seemed to have so much promise for multiplayer then it was given up on. A remake with more of the non-linear design would be good. Make your own choices to make your own conclusion. The orginal hinted at this but only for one level. Updated graphics would be sweet.

Nay, ya' daft pansy. I love the Bosmer too, but...Cyrodill was dull enough. Trumping through never-ending woods? I'll pass.

Oh, come on, the combat system in Morrowind was great. Much better than other rpgs at the time, Oblivion moved away from being an rpg. It just seems too complicated for people to understand that an rpg can be played from Morrowind's perspective.
In implementation, it feels terrible, especially if you played Oblivion first. Don't get me wrong, I like the idea of the way you're moving effecting what kind of move you do and weapons having different values for the moves. However, you have to take into account how long it takes to switch from weapon to spell and that you have no real control over whether you block or not. Oh, and actually selecting to cast a spell is no guarantee of being successful in your casting.

Turok 1 and 2. FPS classics. a remake of them would clean turoks name for good after the next-gen version. Also, imagine the results of a cerebral bore kill in HD! Free Violence ftw!

Some of the Final Fantasy Games would be nice to remake - although I really doubt Square will ever do this, despite the massive money they could make off it. I've heard that Square are incredibly reluctant to remake VII, VIII or IX. They just don't see the need.

Perhaps the Original Half-Life... but some fans are already progressing with that project.

I'd have to say the Original Silent Hill game. That would be an excellent choice to remake, it's a game where up-dated graphics would really, really help with improving the atmosphere.

For a game to be "worthy" of a remake, improved graphics need to somehow make the experience measurably better. For example - remaking Mario 64 wouldn't really do much to make that game any better than it is. Remaking classic games like "Space invaders" or "pitfall" would be bloody useless (I think everyone knows that too).

Another good game to remake might be Metal Gear Solid. I know the GameCube has a remake, but the graphics were still pretty poor.

System Shock might also be good for a remake. Never played it, but I hear it has an excellent story line. Remake it with BioShock's graphics, and I would play it.

Dragon Wars by interplay, hell I'd be happy with an emulator remake that puts the text in the game rather than having to look it up in a book, but that game done with modern tools would be a ridiculously cool game.

Other than that in no particular order, Master Blaster (NES), shadowrun (snes/sega) would be sweet, Secret of Mana (snes), Wing Commander: Privateer, and Uncharted Waters (snes)

Battletoads and Double Dragon :D
But I guess nobody can't remake the feeling of a good old beat 'em up nowadays...
