I have it from a personal witness/playtester that the Penny Arcade game is funny and actually pretty sweet. So that's something I'm looking forward to.

Fallout 3 for sure. I never played the originals so I don't have to feel nervous about all the changes Bethesda might make. If you consider what we've seen so far based solely on its own merits rather than comparing it to the past, it really looks pretty awesome.

Mass Effect for PC should be radical (I don't own a console).

Any further releases from Valve that might come out this year (though I honestly think it's going to be 2009 before we get something else from them. Not that I mind, their ethic of finishing games is admirable).

That's all I've noticed so far. Any real singleplayer RPG for PC these days is something to get excited about.

Dawn of War: Soulstorm
Starcraft 2
Half-Life 2: Episode Three
Mass Effect for the PC

Except for Soulstorm, all of these are contingent upon getting my desktop shipped down here so I can play them.

wow some quite obscure games here, only heard of some of the more well known titles. So wwhats this Penny Arcade game about then? i thought penny arcade was just a loosely connected webcomic...doesnt sound like game material to me, hehe

alsoto josh797: sorry if its a repeat but i didnt notice any other threads of same topic.

NONE! By all that is holy, I have too many to play and not enough time to play them! I can't keep up! My DS alone has a metric ass-load of games that I want to complete. (F! you, Professor Layton!)
Seriously.. I need 30 hour days... or to be able to never sleep again.
Despite that, I would love to be able to buy a Wii.
Also, Fallout 3 (they better get it right!), Brütal Legend, and the Force Unleashed.
When I finally have time to play them, they will be on the discount racks and I will already know how good or bad they are thanks to forums like this..

I really can't think of anything but Fable 2. The truth is that I thought part 1 was a bit shallow, not that I didn't like it, it had it's moments (great ones actually) but the bulk of the game left me wanting for so much more. Having said that, and admitting that Fable 1 had great potential for being a revolutionary game (it is after all a wonderful concept) I put A LOT of faith on Fable 2. I hope they do what Molinoux (or whatever his name is) has been shooting for in the past 4-5 years because if they do Fable 2 will be the game to beat this year.

At the moment...

Starcraft 2
Kane's Wrath (hey, I'm a C&C fan, and a Kane fan, what more could I ask for? Even if the series has gotten worse)
Dawn of War: Soulstorm
Sam and Max: Season 2 full release with bonus disc
HL2 Episode 3 (oh i hope so)

And maybe Mass Effect for the PC (I had my doubts about it but people say it's good, and I do trust Bioware), Gears of War 2 (haven't played Gears 1 but I've been thinking of picking it up soon) and a new Crysis if it's released this year (well, as long as it goes back to killing humans or at least humanoid aliens, the whole war against the flying squid aliens was fun and all, but not quite as fun as finding new ways to kill koreans was, the aliens just felt like an arcade shooter really)

Edit: Oh and Tiberium looks good too, provided they actually do it right. Renegade was kinda fun.

In no particular order, here are a few games I want that aren't out yet:

Ninja Gaiden 2
Portal 2
Spore
Fallout 3
Fable 2
Brutal Legend
Rainbow 6 Vegas 2
The Elder Scrolls 5
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed
Legendary: The Box (I don't know that much about it, but it looks pretty interesting)

There are many more, but those are just the ones I can remember. I need more money...

I've been psyching up for Fez ever since I saw the early trailers. Also pumped for Left 4 Dead, Little Big Planet, and a bunch of AAA sequels (RE5, Fallout 3, etc.). Should be a good year!

There are a few games I've been thinking "Hey, that sounds good, can't wait till it comes out" but all of those games have been pushed to the back of my mind since I heard about Champions Online. It's not coming out till 2009 but damn. I'm already in anticipation. Complete customisation of characters, super hero setting (was a big Champions paper/pencil roleplayer also). Can't wait to see some of my fav characters brought to the video game world.

Force Unleashed looks good, Ghostbusters could be fun but probably better for story telling.

And I would REALLY love a make over of the Chronotrigger. Same story and characters but with a few other things to do and today's quality of sound and graphics. Maybe that's just nostalgia talking?
