There were buttloads of games last year that I would have bought if I had the money, but unfortunately fate intervened and I had to pay for college. Sadly, the cosmic backlash from 2007 has set my standard low this year and I don't expect a lot to draw my attention aside from Guitar Hero: Metallica coming in 2009 and Rock Band 2.
I'm actually trying to stay away from the underground video gaming scene as much as possible because in recent years I've come to the conclusion that the underground is full of presumptious, narrow-minded, pre-pubescent pricks who think Led Zeppelin and Halo are the spiritual successors to the throne of Jesus Christ.
I know, I'm being spiteful and fed up but you would be too if you had the chance to step into my shoes and experience the world from my point of view.
Ranting aside, I can succinctly say that I'm not really drawn in by any games this year. I'm too occupied with more important things - like paying off loans, paying rent, buying snacks from the local grocery during the periods of time when I'm not jerking off to Cult of Personality on Hard difficulty - to give much thought to video games. Plus, I still don't have an Xbox 360 and I just bought my first PS2 last year.
