Singularity, I loved the hell out of every minute of it.

Yeah the story sucked and it felt like a shameless hybrid of Bioshock and Half Life, but you know what?

It was FUN.

And er farcry 2 wasn't amazing, but it wasn't as shit as everyone said

None really. I only buy games nowadays based on good reviews, and as shallow as that may be it's been working out alright so far.

Section 8, I heard it was crap, it looked crap, hell, I WANTED it to be crap. But I enjoyed it, it was the Battlefieldy arcadey shooter with lots of random stuff. I never bought it, as I knew noone was ever going to play it as it was supposedly so rubbish, but it was still fun.

I got Alpha Protocol the other day, despite many people saying it was buggy as hell and not fun but even though they said that, I am having a blast with it. Currently I have not ecountered a single-bug and the gameplay seems perfectly fine to me.
Same as you actually. Really hate the fact so many reviewers utterly trashed it and tanked the sales (hell, I wouldn't have tried it myself if it wasn't for Yahtzee), would've been great to see a sequel, especially considering there's no other game really like it.

Yeah first game in awhile that I can go through almost a whole level undetected, sliently picking off guards. :D

I kept hearing Vampire the Masquerade was pretty bad and broken, but I had a great time playing it. I don't think I even encountered any bugs (well, I did patch it before playing). Thought it was pretty original, too. It's not every day you get to play a game set around urban fantasy.

Been beaten to it, but Final Fantasy XIII. I kind of ignored the hate though, seeing as most of it was coming from FFVII fans.
Not just fans of VII. Y'know, those fans. The ones that believe that no game ever has been, is or will be as good as Final Fantasy VII.

Besides, how was I meant to resist a character that had a baby chocobo? Living in his hair? Of which, is an afro?

Vampire Rain was much better then everyone said. Me and my friend thought anyone who complained about the difficulty just sucks at stealth games. You think after shooting the vampires the first time you would get the hint.

Persona games...wait no one ever said they were bad, they just said JRPGs were bad.

My actual vote goes to Fallout 3, I say this because of 75% of the people on this site. I don't care if Fallout 1 and 2 had better stories, their gameplay was crap.

Before playing the new Wolfenstein, I read and watched multiple reviews and heard from a friend that it was a repetitive, uninteresting trudge through samey generic corridors and shoot outs.

After completing a mission that had me storming a (nothing short of HUGE) Nazi stronghold hidden ridiculously well underneath a normal cozy looking farm combating waves upon waves of Nazis and paranormal monstrosities with a colorful assortment of period Nazi weaponry, fire axes, super-atomic-laser-thinga-ma-jigs, and magic powers, I started questioning whether I was playing the same game all those people told me was so dull and bland.

Yes, Wolfenstein isn't particularly original and doesn't offer much in story or characters, but DAMN IT, it was first FPS in a loooooong time (to be more precise, since TimeSplitters: Future Perfect) where I just had a fucking good time with it. That's really that needs to be said about Wolfenstein, its fun! End o' story.

Unreal Tournament (the first one) was something I didn't hear bad reviews about, but after playing a lot of Quakes 1 through 3 and Unreal I'd decided it really wasn't something that should go multiplayer. How wrong I was. I got the UT demo to give a little variety to my playing of the Quake 3 demo... and I never looked back. Morpheus, you are a god among levels and I STILL can't believe they took you out of UT3.

Quake 2 got me playing multiplayer. UT got me enjoying multiplayer.
If its the PC version of UT3 then just download Morpheus. Theres loads of fan-made recreations that are exactly the same as the original, just with better textures and higher polygon count.
If its the PS3 version you have, see above...save the map file to memory stick or something then theres an option somewhere to import from storage
If its the 360 version then you're shit outta luck as the 360 got the shitty end of the stick
lulz aside ("shitty end of the stick", heh), I have UT3 for PC (which I can't run) and a PS3 sitting under the TV (which I bought for the gf and haven't bought any additional games for). I might have to start building up the PS3 library a bit...

Another vote for Alpha Protocol here.
Really fun, a few bugs, maybe, but the scope and amusement factor outweigh them.
The only thing I cannot forgive is the boss fights. FUCK THE BOSS FIGHTS IN THAT FUCKING GAME RSRASRARARWASRARARAWRASRHAWLERAW
I actually preordered Alpha Protocol on Steam and never regreted it. Apart from when it was on midweek madness for half price a month later. Never had any problems with the bosses apart from Brayko, but he becomes easy when you realise that he becomes really sensitive to flashbangs after snorting coke.

Anyway OT: I got The Force Unleashed after people saying it was crap. Really enjoyed it, nothing since KotOR has made me feel like such a properly badass jedi until this.

Red Faction Geurilla - Search for a review I agreed with on this game led me to find Whity the reviewer aka UltimateChance on youtube, now he is my fav reviewer.

Deadly Premonition - Destructoids review was the only on I agreed with

Saints Row 2 - GTA rip off I think not, one of the best sandboxes ever, hell yes.

The Saboteur - Awesome game, you are like an Irish Spiderman with bombs instead of webs and you can drive Cars of course which I found to handle like a dream. Some of the best platforming in Gaming imo.

Nier. Sure it wasn't perfect, but I still enjoyed the hell out of it.
