Deus Ex (A game that is perpetually on my harddrive at all times)

STALKER Shadow of Chernobyl

Max Payne 1 & 2 (Greatest controls in a shooter I've ever seen)

Left 4 Dead 2 (I love the co-op)

Went back to playing through the Fallout series again because of how unimmersive Skyrim was. So there's that. It's easily my favorite series.

Playing through Mass Effect 3, and I went through the first two again. Probably my second favorite series by a very slim margin.

I just finished Muv-Luv: Alternative[footnote]Okay so it's not really a game, it's a visual novel but who cares?[/footnote] last week and damn was that one hell of a ride! Great characters, character development, animations, story, one of the most interesting alien species I've ever encountered and not to mention it made me cry more than anything else I've experienced in fiction.

Not to mention the most kickass opening song I've ever heard!

My life feels more complete now that I've finished it.

*sigh of happiness*

Also, if something bad seems to be happening in the gaming industry I just remind myself of Pandemic Studios during the PS2 era and all hate goes away...
So...you'd recommend it?

OT: I've been playing deus ex human revolution a lot recently and it made me realize just how much I like it. Even with the shit boss fights and stupid ending it's a really awesome game. Interesting plot, well written dialogue, good gameplay for both shooting and stealth and the "boss conversations" are absolute brilliance.

Captcha: i'm sorry dave
That's...a bit scary...

Currently I'm going retro and playing Devil May Cry 3. I've just managed to get up to Dante must die, and damn are the missions hard. It's still awesome, though.

Also, Kingdoms of Loathing, which is sorta TV tropes, the game.
Here's an example of a combat encounter.

3. Empire: Total War. My Russian Empire has finally broken into India! Soon all will be mine. Canister Shot wins wars. There is something extremely satisfying seeming entire rows of my enemy dropping to the ground from a single canister shot. I know there was some dislike of the sea battles, but I do enjoy them (possibly because I appear to be quite good at them).
I love all the Total War games! A little let down by the replay value in Empires though. The different countries didn't quite have to variety that Medieval 2 had before. There was something deeply satisfying about Britain invading Europe from the south and upwards though... "We're going to go around the whole world and sneak up at them from behind!!"

Medieval 2 was easily my favourite. So much variety in play styles, and so many different tactical choices on the world map... I never played the same way, and I must have played every single faction in that game.

Playing as Poland was my favourite though. Literally packed up my country and moved it into Jerusalem in the first 10 turns. When the Mongols invaded they were confronted with an army of angry mounted crossbowmen bitching about the heat. You should have seen it... two huge hordes of horsemen clashing together out on the sand, with massive reinforcement stacks on both sides.

Amazing RPGs series, combined they tell a great story, with lots of recurring characters. All three games have a wide range of songs to help set the mood for the places you visit. All in all, just a lovely RPG series which I have played through many times.

Megaman X4
For as far as I am concerned, the pinnacle of the Megaman X series. This game had it all, beautifully animated cutscenes, spot-on controls, a decent learning curve, pretty good level design, good bosses, hard, yet once figured out easily defeated. A game which I will randomly play if I'm bord and I'm looking to kill some time.

Tenchu ( everything from the PS2 and earlier )
Although the sequels are regarded as flawed and what not by most critics, I enjoy these games immensely, I like sneaking around ancient Japan, planning out a kill and performing it ( although in most cases, it is a matter of run up to someone and stabbing them but.. ). I just wish they would create a decent "Next Gen" Tenchu game.

I have a list of other games I genuinely like and enjoy playing, but I can't be bothered to draw out this post any longer, I hear people don't like reading long posts.

Just Cause 2, Deus Ex: Human Revolution (mostly), Mass Effect 1, Super Mario Galaxy, Portal, Psychonauts, Cave Story, Sonic CD, Bioshock, Serious Sam, Starcraft, Xenoblade, Twilight Princess, the entire Touhou series, The World Ends With You, Luxor (what?), Bad Company 2, Skyrim, Left 4 Dead, Need for Speed Most Wanted, Hot Pursuit 2010, Shank, A Reckless Disregard for Gravity, Pokemon Black/White.

Just as a sample. I can probably think of a lot more than 24 games I've enjoyed and still do.

Lol, I share your disdain for all the "QQ THIS GAME SUCKS" threads out there. It gets really old, really fast.

I like Ogre Battle 64 because the combat is fun, the lvling is tricky, the gameplay is challenging, and the story is fun. I can replay that game over and over and over again and never get tired of it.
I also like Fire Emblem and Advance Wars, both made by Intelligent Systems. Advance Wars (especially Days of Ruin) has a great storyline, great characters, and very fun gameplay. I've been gnashing my teeth for hours playing it sometimes. Fire Emblem kind of has a love/hate relationship with me. The RNG can be a massive *****, but when things work out perfectly and you max out strength for Hecter and his Armads gets a crit... omg best feeling ever ^_^
Starcraft Brood War and Wings of Liberty are amazing. The story is one of the best I've played, and the gameplay is so wonderfully diverse. I've spent more time playing custom maps on both, than playing it "properly". The map maker in Starcraft has always been fucking amazing.
Zelda: Skyward Sword became my new favorite Zelda when it came out. It improves on everything the older Zeldas were good at (except your partner...) and I enjoy the hell out of it. I am waiting to get it back from my brother so I can play through it on hardmode and melt some more faces :D
Whenever I feel like it, I play this awesome game I got on Steam called The Polynomial Space of the Music. In short, the game is beautiful. The music is beautiful. I love flying around just for the sake of exploring the beautiful space, rather than shooting and blasting like I should. Definitely check it out if you can.

Ratchet & Clank is about the only series I can always enjoy, or at least it was until they fucked it up in All 4 One...

All the other games are still minted, though.

Welp my favorite game of all time is Ocarina of Time, and I still play it at least once a year to this day. I even bought the limited edition Zelda 3DS bundle. I also loved Fallout 3, the world and atmosphere just really clicked with me, not to mention I'm a collector in games so I found great joy in collecting as much as I could in the wasteland. Mass Effect 2 was also great, and in many ways Mass Effect 3 is better but... I just wish it were as long as 2 was and... You know.... The whole ending thing didn't suite my fancy, but I still enjoyed the game and the gameplay is even better then 2's. I still love the Mass Effect series anyway :). Silent Hills 2 and 3 also rank up there, and I'm really excited for the HD collection, even if they didn't put in the original SH3 cast... Pokemon Red and Bue will always have a place in my heart, and I really enjoyed playing Pokemon with friends up until Platinum version, but the games seemed to lose it's luster for us with Black and White. We just couldn't get into them. I also enjoy playing the occasional Rock Band and Dance Central with friends. I even enjoy me some TF2, even got into the whole economy there for a while,

I could probably go through every game I own, but I'll just leave it at that :)...
