Honestly I would try out anything that got away from the RPG elements laid out in WoW and tried something different like a Shooter, Space Sim/Flight, or anything that involves Real-time game play that doesn't rely on 'dice-roll' mechanics. Honestly I think a massive MMOFPS with combined arms (Infantry, Armor, Gunships, Jets, Artillery, Logistics, etc.) would be very intriguing. Also wouldn't mind something like an MMO equivalent of Freelancer as long as they tweaked it a bit.

Basically something where the developers/fans/players can't say "Oh it's like WoW except..."

Mount & Blade would be an excellent MMO, as would Fable. What about some combination of Mount & Blade and Fable in MMO form?

Well, they're still working on Warhammer 40,000 Online...and even if it's terrible...I'll still play it for the sheer Spess Mahrens!

Something like what Ghost1800 said. I'd like to see a big open world MMOFPS, like Fallout, but with out the RPG combat. There could still be other RPG elements, but the dice roll stuff kinda takes away the fun.

While technically a Tabletop RPG there are some Shadowrun games. A MMORPG of Shadowrun would rock. You have everything you need for a MMORPG.

Factions = Mega Corps
Regions = UCAS, Salish-Sidhe Council etc

There are both magical and mundane creatures (Toxic Shamans would rock), cyberware, bioware, magic, vehicles, magic and a great range of NPC archtypes (Fixers, Mr Johnsons, Riggers etc)

I honestly think that a team with decent resources and backing could make a fantastic and rich game.

Even Multiplayer would be easy with Runs on opposite teams, their compounds or their backing corporations. Or partake in the world's extreme sports like Combat Bikes, a Blitzball like game or numerous others.

SPAC MARRINS

:D

Anyway, I think an Unreal Tournament one would be good in theory.

A Fallout mmo would be - for me - a dream come true. A TRUE, mmo, something that the designers love and cherish and really spend time developing instead of a gamecompany X deciding; "Durr, let's make a Fallout Massive Multiplaofpwfaökf Online Roalpalying gaem" and take a dump on the design document.

Oh and the second contender on my list of dreams-to-be-crushed is a Warhammer40k, and with those words, a Dawn of War MMO.

I would love if they made the WH40K a MMOFPS (or MMOTPS, whichever) instead of another WoW-style button-masher. Also I would like an MMO with graphics past the PS2... And perhaps where the players' actions have consequences in lore progression... somehow.

That would be cool..
Although, the graphics part is a bit risky for a designer intent on making an MMO. With low system requirements comes more people able to play it, buy it, pay for it and hopefully enjoy it. Look at World of Warcraft for example, I haven't really seen that much (any) complaints towards the graphics and I myself find them pleasing enough to keep going. MMO's are a genre in which graphics don't really matter that much at all.

Diablo 2.

That is all.

Okay, and Neverwinter Nights Online... If not for the fact that NwN already has a multiplayer (and a pretty big community, for an old game) and Dungeons and Dragons is FAWKING AWESOME.

Yet I find myself more interested in the fact that patch 3.1 is adding an "ultra" graphics setting than at the new raid.

i would like something like Operation Flashpoint MMO.

Servers/Realms like in WoW and you can create various Characters there like Medic, Sniper, etc. Before being able to enter a huge persistent Battlefield and being assigned to a squad platoon and so forth you would complete an instanced tutorial which would be kind of similar to the tutorial missions from Americas Army.
The game could have 2 or more factions and each faction could get like a weekly or monthly goal or something.

That really is interesting. Didn't even know that because I don't play it that actively nor do I ever bother to read the patchnotes. ;p

I'd like to see a resident evil mmo, fallout and pokemon. But they all have massive problems with them. Pokemon yeah sounds great and all but they would have to keep thegame as wondering through grass etc. to find your pokemon because seeing and throwing the ball would be bollocks cos some git might have thrown before you. Fallout yeah awesome game I love it, the problems are you can kill almost anyone in there and if the ydid that then all npcs that are killable would be dead. The monsters in the game all would be eliminated the bloody vat system would drive everyone nuts. And then you got the wannabe gang people who take over landmarks and shoot you if you get near. SO a Fallout mmo might be good with just a group of friends like 4-8 nice number and not everyone is being a T***. And finally the Resident Evil one ooo I love zombie killing but if it became MMO then again problems with the T***s either kill you every constant second or kill steal. As well as in both Fallout and RE is the ammo, normally in Fallout you'd raid a box or person but because it is a free world every bit of ammo would be nicked by some greedy git, this applies to RE as well. I think that covers it feel free to say something. I know you all will.
