In other words, most mainstream titles?

OP: I wish the Halo franchise never surfaced. But on the same ground, I wish Bioshock 2 had never come into fruition. At least, not in that specific manner. It would have been infinitely more fun to play a bloke from before 1960 and have to watch the Civil War take place. Big Daddys and Little Sisters are not scary when they're elaborately explained! Mystery is part of what made them eerie!

I have spent an obscene amount of money on that game.
If you have a PC, there's free alternatives...

Even though I'm right there with you if they ever make Drummania available in the US. While I was in Japan, I know I spent at least $300 total in playing and getting better at drums.

Star Wars TFU.

It could've been great, It could've been amazing...Instead it was frustratingly crap.
I'll second that.

And here I thought they would be able to implement the force well in a game.

Turns out, they couldn't.

Final Fantasy 7. Ever since 7, almost every JRPG has been about stupid EMO kids with even stupider hair.

this. all the videos BEFORE the game came out, seriously made it seem like they were going for something awesome..but it ended up entirely different, basically god of war with the force and lightsabers..

now i didn't HATE the game, i just was underwhelmed and how different it was from what we were promised and showed..

I was talking aboot World Of Warcraft. I don't mind RTSes, I do mind bad MMOs.
Iron Cog Gaseous is Metal Gear Solid.

I'm with you on Final Fantasy and Gears, but why no Metal Gear? The original was the first game to really show that there could be good dialogue, acting and story in an action game. Apart from the fore mentioned it hasn't really had much effect on games, negative or positive that I know of.

Anyway, all Final Fantasy, Halo, Gears, the two newest PoP games and Force Unleashed.

"We will totally revolutionize the way the force is used in gaming!"

"Uhm... I'm pretty sure I could do all these things in the movie-tie-in game for Revenge of the Sith.

I don't know what to think about the sequel. The story sounds retarded and it seems like they completely threw the concept of having it tie the prequel together with the original trilogy out the window.

I say this game where you name games that you wish didn't exist because it's pointless and it's flamebait.

exactly.

it does sound stupid, although i think the e3 cinematic trailer was pretty frickin sweet, the stealth part in the dark was fuckin awesome

jedi+stealth = awesomeeee

but anyways i seriously doubt it will be anything like that..

but my brothers loved the first one..so im sure they will end up getting it..and of course ill sneak over on a day that im free and beat it in a day just to see how it is and where they went with the ridiculous story.

if they would've made the games combat like they had in all the quick time events (minus the actual quick time part) i would've fell in love. as thats what they were promising.

but nope. same old same old.

All of the CoD games.
what?! they might not be what people make them up to be but they still are great games
In your opinion.

In my opinion, they're literally the worst games I've ever played.

They're hailed as being great games but everything they do, other games can do better (besides being absolute rubbish).

There isn't enough space to say how much I hate those games. Every single bastard one has been a colossal disappointment, failing to meet any criteria I would set for a decent game.

Graphics? Don't make me laugh. Some of the worst I've ever seen for any game in the same year.

Story? What story?

Gameplay? Ridiculously artifically lengthened with how little damage you can take. All the games are about 15min long if you take out all the time you have to wait behind a wall. Also, in a couple places, there are infinitely respawning enemies.

Multiplayer is rubbish due to the fact that people who've been playing for a long time have a HUGE advantage over people who've just started. Wrong way round.

So there you have it, there is why they're rubbish - but I wish they were never made because of a different reason.

They influenced a lot of games I was looking forward to or was currently playing with their shittiness. Some were cut out for failure from the get-go, but without CoD in existence they would have been better.

Halo: Reach is an example. In trying to be like CoD to sell more copies, although the game was already cut out for failure, thanks to it trying to be like that spunk bubble I'm not even going to rent it. I p[layed the beta, it was enough - this CoD cancer infects a lot of other games with its shittiness and the world would be better off without it.

No not trolling. Just like with movies the best selling games generally suck. Transformers and Alice in Wonderland should ring some bells.

Halo 3 - Brought the series' quality down several notches, particularly in MP.

Modern Warfare 2 - The most frustratingly imbalanced game of all-time. Way too many bullshit ways for bad players to kill good players. One of the least skill-based Shooters ever made, and an embarrassment compared to CoD4.

The entire Nintendo Wii catalog - The reason game companies are moving towards a more casual audience, which is bad for us hardcore gamers.
