In my opinion, they're literally the worst games I've ever played.

They're hailed as being great games but everything they do, other games can do better (besides being absolute rubbish).

There isn't enough space to say how much I hate those games. Every single bastard one has been a colossal disappointment, failing to meet any criteria I would set for a decent game.

Graphics? Don't make me laugh. Some of the worst I've ever seen for any game in the same year.

Story? What story?

Gameplay? Ridiculously artifically lengthened with how little damage you can take. All the games are about 15min long if you take out all the time you have to wait behind a wall. Also, in a couple places, there are infinitely respawning enemies.

Multiplayer is rubbish due to the fact that people who've been playing for a long time have a HUGE advantage over people who've just started. Wrong way round.

So there you have it, there is why they're rubbish - but I wish they were never made because of a different reason.

They influenced a lot of games I was looking forward to or was currently playing with their shittiness. Some were cut out for failure from the get-go, but without CoD in existence they would have been better.

Halo: Reach is an example. In trying to be like CoD to sell more copies, although the game was already cut out for failure, thanks to it trying to be like that spunk bubble I'm not even going to rent it. I p[layed the beta, it was enough - this CoD cancer infects a lot of other games with its shittiness and the world would be better off without it.

I don't think any of the original Call of Duty games (up to 3) influenced the industry that much to ruin your FPS gaming experience forever. They added to the planet-sized pile of WWII games, sure, but Call of Duty 4 was the one that really shaped the FPS industry for better or for worse. All I know is that now a lot of it is gun porn mixed with explosions.

Although Halo: Combat Evolved did a similar thing by setting the space marine and regenerating health trend for the next goddamn decade, making your complaints about Call of Duty's influence and not the influence of the Halo series oddly specific.

While I do agree that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare/2/World at War has extremely unbalanced multiplayer with its perks/weapons unlocks, claiming that it should be the other way around for new players is silly. So I should have a chance of beating Serena Williams the first time I play tennis? Right.

And if every Call of Duty game released was a colossal disappointment, why do you keep buying or playing them? Surely after eight iterations of the series you'd give up on it.

I buy them each time to see if one day they'll become good, and so people can't say I hate them and haven't played them.

The tennis thing... That's skill you're talking about. In CoD, you have an unfair advantage that has nothing to do with skill and it entirely due to playtime. Perks etc.

I single out call of duty because, as I said, in my opinion it's absolute rubbish.

I'm not here to argue, I'm here to state my opinion, so please don't try to argue with me. This is not an argument.

Last two Splinter Cell games. I wish they'd get obliterated and they just continued making games a-la-Chaos Theory, you know, what Splinter Cell was about before the devs turned them into a gaming version of Michael Bay movies >.<

Little Britain the video game
... there was a video game..?

I never liked the show, but to think it spawned a game is insanity.

None, because wanting to remove a game from existence because I didn't like it is incredibly selfish.

Then again...

Glad I'm not the only one to experience that accursed turd.

Mine would have to be Final Fantasy: Dirge of Cerberus. Square Enix managed to ruin so many awesome things with that game...

Hmm i'm not a fan of scrabble (Q's are too overpowered IMO), and the Solitaire fanboys annoy me with their excessive praise of the system when it's really quite a basic game...
Sarcastic off-topic/on-topic comment is recursive.

ITT: People have another excuse to ***** about popular games they don't like. Can I wish those people didn't exist? What a waste of fucking space.

Modern Warfare 2 - The most frustratingly imbalanced game of all-time. Way too many bullshit ways for bad players to kill good players. One of the least skill-based Shooters ever made, and an embarrassment compared to CoD4.
Seems to me, if bad plays can kill good players, that makes the game incredibly balanced. Otherwise the good players would be unbeatable, right?
sorry metallicarulez, he has a point and yes you can

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

And I am not just saying ''hurr durr it is popular and I hate it. So I am cool!''

This game is a detriment to the industry. For the sole purpose of shafting gamers in favor of casual style gaming. And even trying to kill PC gaming or turn it into console gaming. It also stands as a symbol of the death of intelligent, rewarding games for mindless instant gratification that has no rewards for long term fans, only lies.
Agreed, not to mention it adds absolutely nothing to gaming in terms of new mechanics or designs, and the price increase of both the game and the DLC was completely uncalled for.

As for me, I'm not too sure. I felt Alone in the Dark 5 was utterly terrible, and should never have seen a PC release in the state it was in.

Uncharted 2 & Killzone 2
Gears of War & Halo
Super Mario galaxy & Metroid Prime
WoW & Call of Duty
Why? Cause I like pissing people off.

Fuck it, you're right. I'm only arguing for the sake of it.

I'm sorry.
