Sonic the hedgehog, sega genesis, started my platforming interest.

Goldeneye then switched my interest to FPS.

Ok. I'm really going to date myself here, but when I played Pac-Man for the Atari 2600, I was a gamer for life.

Super Mario Bros obiously. Played it at a friends house when i was three. My parents got me my own nes a week later. Didn't get a pc until i was 10 though. Then it was Warcraft and Command and Conquer who got me started.

The first game i ever played that really pulled me in was silent service on the Atari 520. Its true that i was rubbish at it and spent most of my time getting churned up by the propeller blades of Destroyers but i thought it was great and it made me want to be a submariner. It became clear to me later on in life that my dream of spending my life in a small yet wonderfully phallic tube filled with 40 other men was the sort of fantasy that is normally exclusive to people who would like to become the seventh member of the village people.

Shortly afterwards i got my first console and began a love affair with Sonic the Hedgehog. Maybe my dad became concerned with the amount of time i was spending with fictional sailors and with hindsight maybe it was a good thing, it may have led to a completely different lifestyle choice.

"Sonic The Hedgehog" and "Zombies Ate my Neighbors" on the Mega Drive, as well as Street Fighter II on the arcades. None of them were the first games I've ever played but it was with them that I got into gaming, at least before my PC era.

I started when I was six, playing super Mario brothers, Contra 2(awesome co-op campaign) and Skate or Die (REALLY difficult 2D skateboarding game)

What got me into PC gaming was Quake 1 and Earthworm Jim (If you want to see how the difficulty of games has decreased over the years play R&C: tools of destruction then earthworm jim straight after)

Hah, I feel you on the age thing. People are saying stuff like NES games and even SNES games? Some one even mentioned Fifa '95?

I was there with COMBAT on my Atari 2600. That game was awesome. I also remember Missile Command, Chopper Attack, Kaboom, Air Sea Battle, Space Invaders. In the end I think I had about 60 games for my 2600.
