Final Fantasy taught me English, along with the tv-serie Friends.
That's pretty impressive!

Edit: Had to type in a captha to post this. What's up with that? ._.

My class went to Florence for our study trip.

Spy Fox, Pajama Sam, Putt Putt, Freddi Fish.

Motherfucking childhood edutainment at it's finest.

I actually remember some of those characters from my childhood.
Some of the first games Iv'e played...
Spy Fox was hardcore. He saved the day with sheer awesomeness. He kept his hands in his pockets the whole time, so what else could he have used?

Anywho, I learned about the Italian Renaissance through Assassin's Creed 2. I also learned how to swear in Italian, putani!

One word: Civilopedia
Damn, I almost forgot about this one. I mean, I've always liked history, but I played CivRev on the 360, and even I learned a whole lot.

Did anyone else completely re-adjust their morals after Bioshock? I got the bad ending, so just seeing the Little Sister's reaction to me forced me to become a better person (no compromises when it comes to morals, etc.).

I learned a lot from the original Call of Duty in regards to how the Russians fought during the war. I feel like each game has some small nugget of information or insight to impart on the player.

JRPG's taught me bucket-loads about mythology. Or maybe didn't teach me DIRECTLY per se, but got me interested in it. I'd play an earlier Final Fantasy and wonder at the bizarre names the monsters and weapons had, and would occasionally just type them into google on a whim. When I realized that most of these creatures were named after real-world equivalents, I began to literally search up almost everything from JRPG's that didn't have ridiculous D&D-esque names. This in turn got me interested in the respective cultural mythology these creatures/terms sprang from, and got me obsessed with mythology.
Almost the exact case with me.
Exception was I was interested in mythology really young when I found a stack of old lore books in my elementary school library.
I recognized a few names from Final Fantasy and began to look up everything. Greek and Norse mythologies are fascinating. As are Babylonian myths. Gilgamesh and his travels.

Imperialism 1&2 along with the Paradox game Victoria 2 taught me basic european geography and that the English are treacherous scum.

Master of Orion 2 taught me never to trust repulsive talking sentient crytals. They'll stab you in the back the second they get a chance.

There is only one true answer to the question in the thread title.

The Age of Empires series.

AoE II: Age of Kings, especially, taught me a hell of a lot about certain eras of history when I was little. The Genghis Khan campaign inspired me to buy Conn Iggulden's Conqueror series... which taught me even more.

...Niccolo Machiavelli was a part of a secret guild of clandestine assassins and that some Pope (Alexander II ?) was killed in a fist fight so that some other assassin could find out about the future of his world in a few hundred years time... I think.

Same as the last thread to pop up with this, Mass Effect 2 taught me Newton's Laws
You're old enough to appreciate Mass Effect, but never learned about Newton's laws in school? This confuses me.
