I'm still racking my brain for the reason behind re-designing Black and White.Mau95 said:Pokemon Black2 and White2 is kind of running out of ideas, don't you think?

I hope that fellow who is in charge actually announces they aren't doing any more games with this rational.Sirron Kcuch said:Half Life series. They're so milking the franchise.
You know Witcher game was based on books? That had an ending. With Geralt being dead. If we would use the logic You propose Witcher game could never even exist.tzimize said:Edit: I have to moderate myself by saying that a series is not necessarily bad. I'm thrilled Witcher 2 was made, but only because I get more adventure in a world I love. Not because the story continues. I want a NEW story. Actually, Halo is on 2-3 year increments between releases. Halo 3 came out in 2007 and Halo: Reach came out in 2010. ODST and Wars were more spin-offs that didn't have much replay value, thus making them not really count on that part.crappingpegasus said:any series that's currently on a yearly schedule.
at the very least, games like Assassin's Creed, Call of Duty, and Halo should be forced to take a 2 year (min.) break between releases.
Not really. Although the 2 is questionable, we have yet to see what they are doing to the game itself, besides, this is the first "sequel" to a pokemon game since Pokemon Stadium.Mau95 said:Pokemon Black2 and White2 is kind of running out of ideas, don't you think?
THANK YOU! I cannot tell you how many people have said to me "Hey you wanna play Madden NFl (insert year here)" To which I say, nah, lets go outside, at which point they lose all interest in American football.ChaosDemon said:Anything to do with FIFA. I fucking hate these games. You want to play football?
GO OUTSIDE.
Ha Dead (end). I don't see it continuing after 2 anyway, what made you think it should stop?way2sl0w said:Left 4 Dead (end)
Tower Defense games (less frequent)
3rd person cover shooters (less frequent)
'Fantasy' RPG's (less frequent)
Yeah, good point. Really there are very few games I'd really like to see them stop making pretty much because I can just choose to not buy the ones I don't like; the exceptions being the Call of Duty type military gun wank games and only because elements of them seem to be leeching into games I do enjoy.Tyrant55 said:None. If they can afford to keep making games for a series then there is obviously a good number of people that enjoy playing them. Why deprive them of what they enjoy when I can just choose not to play the games? No skin off my back if people want to play Halo 7, but Reach was the end of the series for me.
They said ME3 is going to be the end of Shepard's story, but they're going to continue the series with spinoff games.tzimize said:I love the Mass Effect series, but I'm going to be pissed if its not over with the third game. One thing the entertainment industry needs to learn is to write proper endings.tippy2k2 said:*Bangs head against something hard repeatedly
Seriously, I don't understand why you would want any game series to stop being made. Here's a tip: If you don't like a game (or series), you don't have to buy it.
Shocking, I know...
Every game series has it's fans, why would you want to rob them of it?
Gun to my head, I HAVE to choose something, I'd go with shovel-ware (or pick a shovel-ware game/series). Broken games that only exist to confuse Grandma at Christmas time.
Witcher 1. Thats a fucking ending.
FF8. Thats a fucking ending.
A REAL ending to a story should be like a climax in sex. The culmination of all the tension in the story exploding in a blast of awesomeness.
I cant believe I just wrote that.
But its true. Sex is better because it ends. So are games/stories.

These results are pretty much exactly what I had in mind. I will add one game to the list though.way2sl0w said:I love these series but they all should end or become less frequent:
Call of Duty (less frequent)
Battlefield (less frequent)
Assassin's Creed (end)
Madden NFL (less frequent but with roster update DLC)
Mario (end)
Mass Effect (end after 3)
FEAR (end)
Dead Rising (end)
Resident Evil (less spin-offs)
Silent Hill (less frequent)
Gears of War (end)
Halo (end)
Bioshock (end)
Dead space (end)
Left 4 Dead (end)
Final Fantasy (end)
and in general:
Tower Defense games (less frequent)
3rd person cover shooters (less frequent)
'Fantasy' RPG's (less frequent)
If Portal, Left 4 Dead and Team Fortress 2 are HL2 mods, then Red Dead Redemption is a GTA4 mod, Fallout 3 is a Oblivion mod, Planescape Torment is a Baldurs Gate mod and a number of other examples. All of these have the same things in common: created by the same developer using the same game engine (and in all but one case, their own engine) in broadly the same genre.LiquidSolstice said:It'd be nice if Valve stopped spewing out HL and HL2 mods and calling them new games.
